So!

Holy Fury is out with all of it’s glory this week!

I just want to say from all of the team that we have been super excited about this release for weeks now and to see the experiences from everyone playing it so far has been so much fun. We’re happy that everyone is enjoying our updates and the things we’ve been tinkering on for the last year.

This week we’ve kept ourselves busy with trying to listen in and gather the things you’re talking about. We’ve noticed a couple of issues that we’re addressing in an upcoming patch, and we are continuing to work on small improvements to make sure the game is in an even better state before going on our winter vacation.

We’re looking forward to hear about your adventures in Holy Fury this weekend! :)

Cheers,

Divine

I don't know if these have been brought up before, but there's a couple of things that stand out to me:
  1. It would be nice if there was a console command to add or remove a bloodline from a character, if only for testing mods and whatnot.
  2. For some reason, upon reforming the Roman Empire, the emperor can no longer wear his fancy crown on account of no longer owning e_byzantium. Was this an oversight or a deliberate choice?

The random duels mid-battle are surprisingly neat. They're not as samey as the ones from mods, and I've had some fun outcomes like taking the enemy king prisoner for 100% War Score.

A friend of mine was playing as 1066 Leon vs Castile, went to war for a province, had a battlefield duel against the enemy king... and killed him, ending the war and inheriting all of Castile. Fun stuff.

I'm enjoying playing around lake Chad, but I noticed you guys fixed it so Suakin no longer stabs into the Duchy of Nobatia. I don't know if this is because of my comments on the Amending Africa dev dairy, but it looks so much better!

A small detail I noticed is that the Copts are using the Byzantine building images, which is a little jarring compared to the Egyptians. Might be better to use the East African building images for the Copts instead. But either way, thanks for all the great work, it was worth the wait!

I'd love to give more feedback, but I haven't really had time to play much. But I am loving the warrior lodges, tribal changes, new nicknames, pregnancy events, and addition of Carantania. And The Fifth Crusade music track gets me all excited every time it comes up in the play list.

But if the Rurikovich are in the best position to create the Empire early? :)
But maybe the best solution in the end will be to create multiple COAs for the different scenarios.

Multiple variants of the same title for multiple CoAs sounds rather messy. Any script targeting e_russia would have to target all the possible ones. Why not make the empire title copy the CoA of whichever principality forms it instead (or use a default if it gets created by someone who doesn't have any of them as primary titles)? You can use the on_create_title on_action to trigger an event that copies the CoA. And if you wanted to go all out you could have the two-headed eagle as the default CoA and a game rule to determine whether the event triggers.

Yeah, that was a bug. It has already been fixed for the next patch, they'll get a camel/knights mix.

Oh wow, that will be a brutal combination. Speaking of retinues, I haven't confirmed it in-game, but looking through the game files I think Alan culture doesn't get any cultural retinues. They're specifically excluded from getting the Byzantine Cataphracts, but unlike Copts and Assyrians they don't seem to get a special one of their own. I guess they were intended to get the Altaic/Iranian one (Horse Archers), but it was never enabled.

It would mean a lot if you guys could fix the hre regnal numbers and update norse/scandanvian portraits.

I second this. I would especially want new Scandinavian portraits. Frankly, I am surprised that they are so ugly- I would have assumed Paradox, as a Swedish company, would have made them the most beautiful by far.

Am I the only one who is getting WAYYYY too many heretic uprisings as a Catholic? Starting off in France in 768 and by 830 I'm seeing multiple uprisings every month. Moral Authority is around 10% and dropping. And this isn't just one play through, this has happened numerous times and even on Shattered World. I'm playing with no mods so it's not that.... Provincial revolts are set at the defaults. I don't mind dealing with revolts but this is becoming unplayable and I have no idea what to do. I really want to enjoy this new expansion....

Thank you all for your kind words and sharing stories from the expansion. The team worked hard and put their love into it, so it's great to see it pay off!

I remember when Holy Fury was presented to me at the end of development of Jade Dragon. I think it went something like this:

Me: "This looks amazing! When can we release it?"
Project Lead: "I'd say November 2018 looks feasible."
Me: "A whole year?! For an expansion! You can't be serious."
Project Lead: "Yup."

Looking back now, I'm glad we took the time we needed, considering how well it turned out. :)
Thank you for taking your time. The wait was long, but really worth it

A few of problems i've noticed:

1) Secretly converting to a religion that considers one of my demesne provinces a holy site is now extremely unreliable and no longer always works as it should. Examples: I cannot secretly convert to Hellenism via a hellenic holy site (not even after i reformed the hellenic faith); I cannot secretly convert to catholic via Jerusalem, even though it's a catholic holy site. I can convert to catholic if i use Rome (but only after i have mended the Schism?). I can convert to Sunni but not to Nestorian via Baghdad, even though i can still convert to Nestorian via Jerusalem. What are the new rules here exactly?

2) As a feudal orthodox ruler i was not able to secretly convert to my spouse's catholic religion by right clicking her portrait. Previously it used to be possible to secretly convert to any of your spouses or concubines' religion. It now no longer works to secretly convert to your spouse's religion if it's in the same group? Or was this never possible and i'm remembering it wrong? I can still convert to and from other religion groups i think.

3) This has been mentioned before but i'll say it too: the Imperial Administration law cannot be passed without Religious Control Mandate yet this isn't always possible to pass (e.g. Cosmopolitan doctrine religion, or Chinese Imperial Administration government).

4) Outremer culture has no cultural retinue (edit: ok reading back the posts here, it seems this has already been addressed)

5) There are far more black COAs around than there used to be. Surely this is a bug?

Yep, it's a bug:

We heard about this bug on release day. A funny thing where the game is trying to randomly generate a coat of arms with all of the different emblems. However it assumed that everyone had the PDXCon2018 dlc and if it then didn't find those textures it corrupted the whole COA. We didn't realize why this happened until it went from a rare occurrence in our tests and became a thing most people encountered due to most of our test accounts automatically having the PDXCon2018 dlc. It's fixed for the patch though. :)

The Maghreb empire seems to missing entirely in the 769 date. All of northern African is de jure Arabian empire (making this empire huge). Is this intended?

I formed Outremer as that one achievement-getting count in Flanders.
Though I think you may have neglected to give Outremer culture the "Knight" unique retinue (or any unique retinue). Which is weird because they still get the unique building.

Honestly though, the rest of the DLC is so phenomenal I barely noticed. Deus has vulted this for a long, long time
How do you create outremer culture? I form the empire of outremer but my culture stay the same(french).

I've noticed something about bloodlines, potentially a bug? So my grandfather became a saint and my mother and aunt got his saintly bloodline but me, my siblings and cousins didn't. My mother and my aunt both had matrilineal marriages. I think this is due to the bloodline only being given to his immediate successors?
Me and my siblings should be able to get his saint bloodline. I got both of his other bloodlines and I didn't get the saint one only because I was born after the gained it. This may also be a problem specific to me. Did anyone else have a similar problem?

What is that DLC ?
