MSI - Your Ladder to the Stars

Warmest greetings from Minamar Specialized Industries!

We delight in meeting new peoples and welcoming them into the greater galactic community. With over 143 successful uplifts to date, we’re the acknowledged leaders in the field of social and technological ascendancy. We’re thrilled to finally make your acquaintance, and hope to add your world to our success story.

We understand that this is all very sudden. Receiving a transmission ‘from the stars’ has likely come as a surprise to you, but we’ve been watching your world for some time and your civilization scores very highly on several relevant metrics. With an evaluation score of ?ERROR_UNDEFINED, the people of ?ERROR_HOMEWORLDNAMENOTFOUND have been flagged as particularly worthy of cooperative enlightenment. Congratulations!

We have assigned some of our best specialists to your case, and our representatives will be arriving on world shortly. We can’t wait to meet in person to discuss the benefits of ascendency as well as the terms of this beautiful arrangement.

Enlightenment may not be free. But at MSI, it’s always worth the cost.

Your friends at Minamar Specialized Industries

Oooohhh that sounds intriguing! I hope that primitives and uplifted species will come with unique traits as they used to. Also, quite excited to know about which upcoming changes are planed, too!

Whilst this reads a bit like the plot to the first half of the megacorp trailer, that image at the start is interesting - it's higher rez than an event picture, but the same aspect ratio, and shows - to me - what looks like a bunch of "collected" (ascended?) aliens....

That said, if it is a primitives DLC, i'd be very excited for it for three reasons
  1. It (hopefully) means PDX have found a fix to primitives ascending to FTL-hood, taking the star system over and snatching away any of your colonies there, too.
  2. I hope we get more primitive building-related shenanegans -- in "old/tile" stellaris, I loved invading primitives and building advanced mines whilst not demolishing their pyramids and primitive huts (whilst having super-advanced worlds not far away) -- gave me a nice warm Go'auld/Stargate vibe.
  3. Maybe we'll see some of the more primitive themed cut origins showing up?
    • I dont have the link explaining them to hand but some of them from memory are:
    • covert action - something related to the uplifting action against primitives (like, you start with 1-2 rulers ruling over a different species or something)
    • fratricide - you start with a tomb world or some sort of ruined world in your home system - of another primitive empire that evolved in your system, and you snuffed out before 2200.
    • eldest sibling - start with some primitive worlds in your home system (see my point #1 about them hopefully fixing the primitive ascending to FTL problem.

Birthed by Calamity and Shroud Touched probably turned into Knights of the Toxic God and Teachers of the Shroud respectively.
That being said i’d love to see what Observed Devolution would be about.

This could mean one of two things.

We go get the primitives?

We ARE the primitives? There are things more powerful than fallen empires?

Which one?

Indentured Assets Onboarding Dept. likes this diary.

We hope to help many primitive populations become productive, contributing members of our quality-controlled society.

I'm quite excited to see what this DLC is going to have.
I hope that it's not just the uplifting being expanded upon, but also new types of primitives (Hives, Machines) and more variety in primitives (not just one fixed line of technological progress based on human history).

I’m happy i’m not the only one seeing collector there :p
I really hope it’s another midgame crisis, it would be quite fun and we could compare it with the modjam

but i concurr with most of the posts there: we’re lacking TOFU!!!

Huh, very promising. Sounds as if the next DLC is going to allow us to have more options to play with the primitives.
Probably along the lines of Situations like we get when we defeat the Elder Drake or have a rebellion brewing.

VERY nice. I wonder how much X Com references they can get in before Firaxis starts suing :)

Great, what a teaser of an upcoming DLC and update! Hope you won't forget about Fallen Empires as well, I'm waiting to play as a FE since the release, probably. Mods are not the same and they are, well, mods.
Good luck and keep up the good work!
