Good game. My first attempt at analysis and playing the game, and I die. Who sent in the order on me?
Not sure if you are sarcastic, but in case you aren't.
On the 18th of April 1864 the Prussians stormed the fortifications with 40,000 men; there were 12,000 Danish defenders in the fortifications and 15,000 reinforcements on Als. It was a slaughter with whole Danish regiments wiped out---especially the regiments fighting in Redoubts I and II and the trenches between them were pretty much wiped out. During the battle the 8th Brigade heroically charged which let the remnants of the defenders escape to Als. As a fun fact the father of world known author Karen Blixen fought in the battle as part of the 8th Brigade---mentally he pretty much died that day. On the 18th of April the fortifications couldn't be compared to Sevastopol anymore either; the Prussian cannons had almost completely destroyed them at that time.
It was an unwinnable battle which from a military standpoint never should have been fought, but the government in Copenhagen had ordered the fortifications to be defended no matter the casualties. In the end Denmark would have been far better off if we had retreated and let the Germans storm empty fortifications.
It would therefore feel very strange to have Denmark win the battle just because 4 infiltrators were lynched. By the way the events I referenced, like the surveilance bridge between the two towers of Broager Church or the destruction of Dybbøl Mill, were real events.
Hope people enjoyed the game and the story I had running through the updates; I think I managed to have it quite coherent even though I made it up as I went. Felt that the siege couldn't end different than in reality even with 4 ahistorical infiltrators which is why I wrote the 18th of April epiloge. The seer was a real general, but all wolf names (Detlev von Liliencron was a real person though) and all names for dead villagers I made up---they all are plausible names though.
The names of the surviving villagers all are names of actual soldiers who fell on th 18th of April or dies due to injuries obtained on that faithful day. The little descriptions of them the seer and the surviving villagers are also true. I only got the idea to grab my books on the war---and especially the book on that battle---today; do people think I should have used it all along find names instead of making them up?
Hey jonti, why don't you try and insert some reason into your posts.Thank you for GMing Wagon, good game village, Madchem, Dex and Nikk.

What is unreasonable is going out of your way to thank every single player except Xarkan. What is unreasonable about thanking the GM for GMing?
Oh and next time you want a mook, ask someone else, a simple thank you would have been fine.
If you don't think I know how to lose that's your prerogative.
If you want to insult me that is also your prerogative.
If you think your bad choice of hunt is great again your prerogative.
If you think that yelling at me will get me off my shit list then well, you'll learn.
Point is you had lost and chose the least likely seer, and killed me out of spite.
And hey, you are the loser. Again.
I "lost" in name only because you decided to kill me.
You lost because you were completely outplayed by everyone else.
Loser.
He lashed out at the least likely seer, who was put in the line of fire by someone too frit to do their own dirty work. What is unreasonable is going out of your way to thank every single player except Xarkan.
It does make life feel a little desolate.Yeah, historically it wouldn't make sense to have it any other way, but it does question what we accomplished from an RP perspective, since had we lost to the wolves the Prussians would've won... which they did anyways. My comment was sarcasm.
I hardly ever survive. You really are a sore loser. I second the grow the fuck up.
You spew vomit to make people feel bad if they ever vote for you, or ever hunt you. That's how you get a high win record, pure survival because too many players in this game fear to kill you out of fear how you will react. I guess it's one way to win a lot of games, but it makes the game quite unpleasant. I hope more players start to see through it.
You died in a werewolf game. Get over it.
Yeah I know it doesn't seem to have accomplished anything---on the other hand you died honerable deaths with at least one of them also being heroic and your names are being remembered.Yeah, historically it wouldn't make sense to have it any other way, but it does question what we accomplished from an RP perspective, since had we lost to the wolves the Prussians would've won... which they did anyways. My comment was sarcasm.
I know.My comments were more to poke fun at the 'victory' of the village rather than actual complaints in case I'm being unclear. It was a good game.
I think desolate is too small a word to describe the state of Denmark after that war; we learned in the really hard way that when Germany comes we cannot do a thing and that our politicians shouldn't be completely stubborn and out of touch with reality. We didn't step out of the shadow of that war until at least 1991 and you could argue we still partly are in it. So even though it would be good to stop WWI, WWII and the Holocaust in the end it simply felt too artificial and strange to have the siege lifted; when writing the ending this was the only thing that felt right. It does make life feel a little desolate. But hey, that's probably how the Danes felt too.
Too bad, I really wanted to stop WWI and WWII and prevent the Holocaust.
You weren't lynched though; you were escorted across Als Sound to Sønderborg since a fortification isn't a place for a woman (in 1864). You most likely survived the war as the only one besides Nautilu.Hey, downer episodes are fun, eh? At least we died as martyrsfor Allahfor Denmark.
Unless you were lynched (like me) by your fellow Danes, remembered only in the hearts of your countrymen an accursed German.![]()
Oh, that's right. You weren't lynched though; you were escorted across Als Sound to Sønderborg since a fortification isn't a place for a woman (in 1864). You most likely survived the war as the only one besides Nautilu.
Actually, Nautilu wanted to specifically test out your loyalty. He hadn't scanned you, and your reaction to the proposed outing could give information. Interestingly enough, when Xarkan mentioned that he thought the outing could be fake, I was about to actually back you up, and prevent the wolves from accidentally lynching seer by making myself a bigger target. As it turns out, Xarkan immediately thereafter posted something about there being too many people alive for a fake outing to work, and I was able to edit my post into something harmless before anybody noticed. He lashed out at the least likely seer, who was put in the line of fire by someone too frit to do their own dirty work.

What about EURO's voting Ark at deadline, and Rovsea doing likewise?
Thanks for Wagon GMning![]()
And this was my first WW game ever
Just curious, did Nautilu scan me or was it just luck?
