Werewolf CLXXIII: The Heart of Africa

My Dearest Beatrice,

I know it is with a heavy heart that you and our beloved boys await my return, but I'm afraid that I must ask of you just a few more months of waiting. I have joyous news! Prince Edward himself has requested that our group lead him to the Heart of Africa to see the wonder that is Lake Victoria. He and his retinue have arrived today and we set off first thing in the morning. I'm afraid this means you might not hear from me for a while.

But fret not, my dearest wife! Once I return, I will receive the grace of Her Royal Majesty, Queen Victoria herself! Finally the doors to higher society will open to us. The thought of you all gives me the strength I need to persevere in these savage lands. I do hope my brother is not too harsh on you. He means well, but that temper of his is the devil's own work!

Give kisses to the boys from me.

Your beloved Arthur

Randy, why did you never show the goat picture to Split? He could have used it!

I found that one quite recently. It's good though. :)

I think he'd be equally scornful of indolence goat as I. Probably more because I just looked up what that word means and I'm totally indolent.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Think the other way: So large that they can dominate the vote cycle and simply win by sheer voting/debating power. If you're that big there's always a way to save your packmates without being too obvious about it.

25-30% of the players is no different to Lite. No guaranteed control of the lynch, and moving that openly is exactly what the village wants given there might need to be 7 villager lynches for parity.

2) No-trait non-scanner roles: BO-RING!

It's great fun, as long as the game isn't setup so you're just making up the numbers. No seer Lites can be won. But if you're dealing with single wolf packs, it's all luck and hoping for screw ups.

I sort of agree with Kiwi. Without testing it's really impossible to tell what would change. It seems like they would dominate the vote cycle intuitively but there's no logical reason this must be. It could either scale up or down and the only way to tell is from testing. Wouldn't mind seeing this in a game sometime.

8 in 30 would probably be too high, but balance is always a tricky thing. I've often wondered about a Big game that was literally a bigger Lite. A starting apprentice to guard against an early seer hunt and little else. My biggest concern is it might be a setup that built up momentum one way or the other, rather than keeping an equilibrium.

That is the major problem with one pack setups, yes. IIRC White Daimon's GM guide discussed numbers of packs and I think I still agree with him that Two is best since it mitigate the snowball effect but having a One or Three pack game every now and then to keep the village guessing is good for the overall game series.

EDIT: Link to the game balance post in the GM guide

I forgot WD wrote that all down at some point. Maybe it should be stickied?

Agree with all the aforementioned it
