hi im Fluffybastard (Number 29 atm on the scoreboard),

and i want to know if this community think the HS129 over-performs for its price (especially in phase A)
i fight a lot of grudge matches against my buddy, who usually plays 3rd Falschirm and his whole strat is based on the Hs129 and iv observed over time that it disregards most of my AA and fighters (in phase A in particular)

i think the Hs129s ability to kill tanks AND escape without to much trouble means that something should be done about it, personally id like to see a 2 star JU87 in phase A instead of a HS129 or see the price increased to reflect other unicorns (like the beute firefly).

thanks and i respect and welcome any feedback on if you agree or disagree with my mini proposal.

I also think it is too efficient at erasing a (or several) tank(s) almost every call-out. Even if you lose the HS, you've still gained local advantage and possibly wiped a valuable asset. I think I'd like to see it be more inaccurate or less penetrating (even if that ends up reducing its cost).

This opinion is formed partly from personal experience but mostly from watching replays (and holds true whether the HS is on the friendly or hostile team).

The continuous nerfes are enough. They are heavy investments and take forever now to come back from repairs. The divisions that get them don't have the fanciest armour and rely on them.

HS 129 is so slow... If your opponent has AA, the advantage on the field, and is able to put lots of points in HS 129 with airforce protection, you're in bad shape anyway.
You should always be able to get air superiority or at least proper AA close enough to your armor to prevent it.

For about the same price, HS129 is WAY better than Typhoon AT at killings tanks. That's a fact.

This does not mean that Typhoon need a boost. It mans HS129 would need a (small) nerf.

This is a pretty good point you raise, it is 20 points more expensive and quite literally the allies' only air related tank answer, and if im not wrong its about the same speed as the HS129 but the HS129 is tougher (more HP / less suppression) than its counterpart if im not wrong

To know what we speak about, there are two different HS 129 to start with.

The HS129 B1 with his 37mm kannon (180 points but 400 km/h only) is available with the :
- 3rd Fallschirmjager in phase A, B and C
- The 716th Infantry in phase B

The HS 129 B3 with his 75mm kannon (200 points but 400 km/h only) is available with the :
- 91 Luftlande in phase A, B and C
- 352nd infantry in phase C

The others deck don't have it (some have the junker with his two 37mm kannon like the 17thSS with only 350 km/h speed).
First thing you'll notice : HS 129 is only available in infantry decks.
Second thing you'll notice, HS 129 B3, the most powerful, is only available with 91 Luftlande which most powerfull tank is the Stug 3G (75mm 14APat 1000m, only 10 armor front) and 352 infantry, in phase C which most powerfull tank is also the Stug 3G.

The 3rd Fallschirmjager has also nothing more powerful tank than the same Stug 3G.
And with 716th infantry it's even worse cause they even don't have any Stug 3G, their best tank is the Panzer 355 (7AP with a 47mm at 1000m)

Stug 3G cost always 165 points. HS 129 is really not op whe nyou think about it.

Obviously i havn't compared all the at guns available but a plane to kill tanks is huge risk and once you loose them, you've nothing else to retaliate. It has to be powerful.

As the other german plane to kill tanks, as i said there is only the JU 87G (two 37mm kannonen, 160 points, 350km/h), it's available with :
- 116th panzer in phase B (this division has no tigers and only panther G in phase C, in phase B you got panzer IV).
- 21 st Panzer Rommel but only in phase C (21st panzer has nothing but panzers IV and a beute sherman before phase C and his koenigstigers).
- 17th SS in phase A and B (the most powerful tank in the 17th SS is the Stug IV (175 points, 75mm 14AP at 1000m with 12 frontal armor).

There is no anti-tank plane in 12thSS Hitlerjugend nor Panzer Lehr, but it's understandable, these divisions have panthers in phase B.

The 3fsj Hs129 is fine at the moment IMO. It's fairly easy to panic with AA, I expect tanks to live when I can panic the Henschel to at least about 50% morale before the plane has completed half the run.

The Luftlande B3 version is scarier but definitely more expensive.

Though the ones I think are the best are the Ju 87 ones as they get a lot of shots off on target and can easily pick multiple targets in one strafe.

It is fine as it is. I am considering 1v1. You cant just look at the stats of a Unit and compare it to others.

Fall Division:
HS129 comes with 9 AP what wont help you to deal with most of the medium tanks frontal armor. If you call it in (and want to keep it) you need at least 1 ME 109 and/or some AA. So you also have to consider what to pay for the Units to keep it alive actually.

Luftlande Division:
The HS129 comes with 16 AP for 200 (what is very strong for the price). Because of the Bad AA capabilitys of this Division in Phase A its dangerous to call it in. Its slow and swallows even cheap AA like a sponge and wont come far (or even returning home) if you didnt preplan this move (there is also luck involved and positioning of your AA). If you bring in the Rocket version of the ME109 and also 3 Flak you have total costs of 400 points just for the support around it (So 600 for the whole package) . And even than, because of the cheap HE power aswell as the short range of the AA its still risky to call it in phase A. The ME109 in Phase A is not an Interceptor. If you call it in Phase B instead the opponent might have enough AA at this point to stop it anyway.

If you are not willing to pay the price of stopping a HS (and most of the allied divisions have the capabilitys to to so) you deserve to get ripped apart by it. :) It might be smarter to shorten the the amount of points you spend in tanks to push you enemy on the ground to actually keep them alive if there is a threat like the HS129. You cant have it all.

The J87 never stays alive. The HS129s do.

Yeah. The big trouble with the JU87G is to get it back. It's often 1 shot 1 or 2 kills 1 plane. Which is at least a fair trade if you can disable some 200 points tanks. But without airforce to support it and AA near your frontline, your JU is pretty much every time dying to enemy fighters in its way back.

I feel HS129 and JU87 are fine but allied players should expect them in phase A when they play against the according german divisions.

exactly. If you play smart you even dont have to worry about a HS in phase A at all.

Preplaning is also a huge part of the game aswell as calculate quickly what your opponent can bring in. Bringing in a HS is a preplaned move where u have to consider alot of factors. If you spend all your points on gaining advantage on the ground for tanks, not considering any AA you shouldnt be surprised if a HS becomes "OP".
