Modrons in Phi Arietis are not a problem, by the way. It's that dead-end star system right next to the Neutral Zone. They aren't going anywhere from there.
So they only have one JO from their home system and that other one has no other JPs?
It saw the Thurnock Cartel. Is thst the Mordeons?

We haven't explored their home star system. So we have no idea how many exits it has.

We're waiting for a Trade Treaty (need 200 Dip, we're up over 80) so that our scouts will be ignored by the Modrons.

Yes, "the Thurnock Cartel" is what the Modrons call themselves.

Wait, no!

Haute-Rhin is their Diplomatic Ship!

They're sending out more Diplomats.

Awesome.
Does that mean they'll level up faster?
Hmmm...

The Modrons built a gate leading from the Neutral Zone into Harmony, but they haven't built the other side of the gate (the Harmony side).

They are returning to Mechanus instead. Maybe their PD escort needs shore leave or something.
I thought NPT didn't need shore leave, etc.
Seems marginally useful in that based on that info you can figure out if a planet is likely to have precursors or not.

But.. you can also just send a probe and know for sure ;)
Would a Grav survey always reveal of there's ruins? Or do you need ground survey?

Looks bad...
Relax.

Does that mean they'll level up faster? - Not sure if it adds.
I thought NPT didn't need shore leave, etc. - But they might be programmed to BEHAVE as if they needed it... just that no penalties are actually applied if they fail.

They have scouts (Geo- and Grav-scouts) exploring Harmony now.

No. Only the highest diplomatic bonus counts.

You can't just spam a few hundred diplomatic vessels at a NPR and expect to get a research treaty in a year that way. Steve wisely declined to make that kind of min-maxing possible.

They don't get maintenance failures.
But they do have a maintenance clock, and they are programmed to do overhaul and shore leave to rewind it.
They just don't suffer the penalties associated with letting it run up too high.

Excellent!

Our military units in Ze Neuotral Zoon-a (facing the Bork) have taken Shore Leave.

And since Shore Leave requires the presence of pops, that means that our Orbital Habs must have arrived and joined the Naval Base.

Perfect.

Now that we have pops in the system, we can tell the Bork to just Bork off.

... of course, they might not LIKE that...

They don't even have any ships in that system yet, do they?

Feels like they are fine with hanging around in their own home system.

They have kept themselves to themselves, for sure.

Passive? Xenophobic? Or just expanding in a different direction?

Code Bork!

After about two and a half minutes, the Bork ship came out of jump shock and turned on its RADAR.

This is the FIRST time they've actually seen us (instead of just tracking us on Thermal).

Our Diplomatic ship is sitting one million km away from the jump point. Do they shoot at it?

The Bork have been in Ze Neuotral Zoon-a for nearly ten minutes, and haven't opened fire yet.

For seven minutes of that time, they've been out of jump shock and had a RADAR lock on our Diplo ship.

I've been taking two-minute and five-minute turns, and there have been no interrupts.

In other words... no weapon locks.

Are they peacefully inclined?

Armok's Beard!

I just realized... check the dates in the above screen-shots of the arrival of our Orbital Hab, allowing us to formally claim the star system (August 21st 2030)...

... and the Bork's first arrival in Ze Neuotral Zoon-a (August 22nd 2030)!

We're on year 82 of this game, and we beat them by ONE DAY.
