Valkyrie.net might be down... I know Paradox is planning improvements for the MP game, but 1.03 should work...

Do you get any error messages?

Muttiplayer problems in 1,03

No error messags, works great in 1.02. Fresh installed 1.03. Had the same problem with Waffen who posted in the multiplayer forum. When the host has one person join the game it returns to the desktop. Vnet people are saying the same thing that they were unable to start any games with 1.03? Is it me or are multplayer games with lans or vnet working with 1.03.

Thanks for your help it is really apprecaited.

I'm moving this to MP, I have no idea about this.

Yeah 1.03 is pure crap in MP and so is 1.03-MP lets hope 1.04 works in MP.

I also hope 1.04 will be released for all versions so the game gets playable on V-net, and not just a meeting place for people with broken patches and diffrent versions as it is right now.

What happens when you try 1.03-MP?
For me it works in LAN, and over TCP/IP fine.

Then you must be the only one that have gotten it to work. As soon as you try to connect ( if useing tcp/ip) or join a game (on V-net) with 1.03 or 1.03-MP you get the msg can´t find IP but on 1.02 this works fine... I also would be very grateful if you puplished some information about V-net and Tcp/ip games like what ports it uses. So I don´t have to put my machine in DMZ every time I wanna play online. In order to open only the requered ports in router/firewalls. I can´t find any information on this in the manual or at your web page. I think alot of ppl make the mistake that they have lots of other programs running while trying to use V-net. My experians is that this causes alot of problem for ppl when they try to connect to Tcp/ip and V-net games.

and why do you say it works in Lan and Tcp/ip????

As far I know their is no diffrense in the tcp/ip and V-net games. The only thing V-net does is let you know that the game exists after you know that you can either join by selecting internet game and type in the IP address manually or simply join it on V-net. Further more local game also uses Tcp/ip so why is it that it only work in one and not the other???

And then finally I have one more bug for you to solve some ppl have trubble joining a game on V-net but then they join the game (that is created on V-net) manually by Ip that is there is no problem....

Please get MP to work soon.....

I hate to be such a bitch about theese bugs but I only nag at you guys cause I like the game, and want to be able to play it online cause it´s much more fun than single player....

Because the code changed everywhere in the game is the string-handling. And code to get the names of the games are different in direct tcp/ip and valkyrienet.

Have you tried direct tcp/ip connection?

Yeah I almost always start my games in direct tcp/ip since some have problem joining on V-net... But V-net still are usefull to gather all the players...but as I said before I can create the game on V-net and ppl can join it by selecting internet game and type in the address... This way I get the same results as in direct tcp/ip... This is kind of easy to since the Ip of the host is displayed on V-net.

1.03 Broken

I would have to agree with the above. No luck with direct TCP/IP!
Boy is this frustrating.

Has anyone had any luck whatsoever with 1.03 on a LAN or VNET?? Besides SF people?

Thanks

Luv this game and the changes to 1.03, having a EU party on the weekend with 5 machines. Was hoping not to have to re-install and play the 1.02 version :D

Is there a North American version of 1.03-MP that I can download right now and use right now?

Thanks,

John

Scandinavian version on Win XP.

This is the same problem I have with the 'old' 1.03. I guess I'm waiting till 1.04 or 1.05 comes out before I can play this game with my friends again. Sheesh.

Okay according to Wan, 1.03-MP (as released in Scandanavia, but nowhere else) still has the MP CTD problem. (The one where when somebody joins a LAN game it crashes). Tragic. Let's see if 1.04 or 1.05 fixes it.

John

Incredible! The game has been released when it wasn't finished! and moreover they add some bugs with the new patchs! But they are professional, no? They should think to change the development team!

The player buy a beta-version! It's lamentable! You are mocking at the players!

I'm starting to get the feeling that MP problem is worse then just a quick fix. How do people keep their jobs with this kind of support? I just can't imagine something like this getting by without some heads rolling. Not only that I would have made sure the fix was out ASAP no longer then 48 hours or some more heads would have been rolling. This is just bad business but it seems the norm in the software industry. :(
