says the game isn't installed even though the patch is in the same dir.

CK gets bloody annoying with all the crashing
 
I think the patch takes that information from the registry. Seems that the registry parameters of your install are broken, or you have copied the program files, without actually installing them from the CD. Reinstalling from the CD should sort these problems.

Edit: Weird problems installing the patch, before the actual release date in UK? I sense a ban coming... ;)

You have not renamed the installation directory after installing CK? That would be one possible reason for this, as the patch extracts itself to the destination in the windows registry.

Oh - and this should be moved to technical support, I think. :)

Nah. There are loads of UK players (me included) who got the game direct from Paradox. (And I think it is on the shelves here now anyway!)
 
Reinstall using the default drive and directory then try it.

I bought it from GAME a day ago so no need to be rude
 
So the problem sorted itself on reinstall?
 
I had this problem when running the patch, in that I had to cancel out halfway through (don't ask why :eek:o). I then ran the installer again and and selected the "repair" option. The patch then installed properly.

This may not work for you though.
 
Well the problem seems to be sorted.
