Now I got 1.08 properly installed my system does not run as smooth as it did before (and it did not run very good back then). But now it stops every few seconds,

What can I do, how to speed up things?

reinstall with 1.07 and can I play Mes and AOI then????

Would this be better in the tech support or something than here?

Have you played any of the betas and did it slow at any one in particular? It could be something to do with the new tags, as they are probably still a little buggy.

Sorry for posting in the wrong part of the forum.

I played all of the beta's until 1.07 and it did not slow down significantly. This only happened when I installed 1.08.
I also thought it was the extra 10 tag difference but did not know for sure.

Is there a sollution?

Make sure you have done the standard things first.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

If that does not help do the following and I will see if anything jumps out.
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

Have you defragged your computer recently?
How much harddisk space is left on your computer?

I will defrag tonight, I have enough clear disk space and have turned al to 16 bit but then, I have a very bad compu.
Will take the rest of your advice and give it a try.

Thanks,

I doubt the Human eye make much of a distiction between 16BIT color depth and a 32BIT color depth. ;)

If you saw them side by side maybe.
But if you have your display set one way or the other you do not. ;)

It was already on 16 bit, defragging took me hours and then it was not yet finished. I will continue the defrag over the weekend.

Hopefully it will help me a bit, otherwise I have to buy myself a new compu. :(

Give us your stats maybe we can point out a bottle neck.

The stats of my compu?

eh, it is a 650mhz (ah, that's the problem:))
with 64 mb ram and no sound card (so it works better)

I have done many of the things you said in this thread and after I done a certain thing it crashed while defragging and I re-started and now MEs is running way better. Do not understand what happens but the real problem is gone....

Well that is good news but the real cause of the problem is the 64meg, I would say 128 is the bear minimum for running ME. 256 for XP. but you really should have atleast double those.

Maybe something for the future.
Thanks for the help :)

Your welcome.
