Or if you're a machine empire yourself, you could offer them to join your collective
I doubt that diplo-vassalization would be as easy as simply being another machine empire.

So it seems that we still stuck with the strong trait with syncretic evolution specie... Why can't we properly do a two specie empire without having to enslave it or having the second race designed to be used for labor? Rogue servitors' pets can have the traits they want so why not syncretic evolution?

because it is part of the lore (there strong and stupid)
do not like it? either mod it out or use genetic changes.
Rogue servitors and assimilators organics were once an advanced species. (also, expect a few traits like nomadic and adaptable servitors organics are pretty useless)

But what if their determined exterminators and you are rogue servitors or driven assimilators. Or a random industrial production core.

I think exterminators hate you too but not as much as they would hate you if you were organic.

Maybe it's like this: you hate mice and your neighbor has pet hamsters. You won't necessarily invade his house to get rid of the pets and you may even be his friend.

Wait... Primitive... Machine civs? Why does this remind me so much of Nier Automata?

well I think the Primitive machines are meant to be possible as Machine, Nuclear, and Space age civs, and I hope that means that organic primitives will be able to develop Robots during those ages(thus becoming Mechanist empires).

and sense @Wiz has expressed interest in expanding how the player can interact with Primitives, I can see helping or hindering such developments being one of them, as well as interfering in Nuclear wars, because if I have a observation station I should be able to at least try to stop them, or get some kind of warning("tensions are rising between the nuclear powers of [planet name], we should prepare just in case the worst might happen") and be given a few months to send ships to do a "research project" at the planet to stop the war(or shift in the favor of one side? perhaps to shift Ethos one way or another by taking sides? maybe just abducting the "valuable"(1 POP of "Refugees") members of the primitive population as an alternative?)

What do you mean normal machine empires?
if you're talking about the feature video, I think he was talking about the Syth acention path, sense they are "normal" POPs with Ethos not hiveminds.

So, we can't play normal machine empires because "technology problems", but machine primitives are on the way to game? Come on, PDX...
Machine "Primitives" would likely be the Hiveminded type, and I'm sure will be restricted to existing in Machine, Nuclear, and Space ages, if not existing in their own special class of ages, after all "Primitive" in this case refers to anyone Pre-FTL, not just sticks-and-stones tier.

I am sure someone will make a mod to allow you to have robot pops without hive mind.
Shouldn't be all that hard.
I made a little test mod a while ago that turned machine pops into synthetics (including factions, happiness, etc). I am pretty sure you can apply the same to Robots or Machines if necessary.

In the words of the creator: Go ahead, we do not care.

I would love to but the dlc is still missing from my game. Personally, I looking forward to playing the assimilators and I usually play mechanist anyway to take advantage of having robots do all the mining while my main species has thrifty and intelligent

Machine Primitives are just Machine Empires that somehow overthrew their creators (or were created by some ancient force ages ago) did not achieve space travel. A lot more likely than someone reaching extremely complex AI before space travel.
