Is this a bug?

I can be more precise if needed (i'm at work not at home) but i've married some random 30yr guy in my court to a woman from germany i think somewhere. Anyway thats not the point but ever since she's come i get this stupid event like every couple months that her sins haven't gone unnoticed. I'm sure you've seen it, it gives 3 choices: atone-lose bad traits and gain good ones, go to church once, or get excommunicated. Well if i do the atone and all my sins are forgiven it costs like $300 but luckily it charges her not me so thats no big deal or anything except it just keeps coming up over and over. ITs more a pain than anything, but something has to be wrong. I'm guess the atonement doesn't have any effect.

Anyone else have this problem?

Obviously its a minor bug but it the only problem i've had while playing so far. Zero CTD's (crosses fingers) and nothing else either. I haven't played terribly long, but my biggest problem is mass muslim invasions of Castile. Nothing i can do to stop them :( I must just suck at playing though cause apparently most everyone else thinks its TOO EASY. At least my games aren't buggy though.

have others had the same event firing again and again?

Kinslayer rides again

This event as far as I know ( and ive played lots) is only fired if you have picked up a very negative trait ( ie Kinslayer, heretic) and will continue to be fired as long as your character is a) alive b) posseses the trait.
There is a % chance given for removing the negative traits... kinsslayer 25%
Ill take your word for it, but ive never seen this fire except for the Duke/King/count the player currently controls and only if he posseses such a traint.
In my expereince id say its WAD

Might it be in order to make it happen less frequently, i.e. make the MTTH bigger? I haven't experienced the event myself, never had any kinslayer/heretic/excommunicated people.

EDIT Not a very informative thread title there, edited.

I have had this event firing many times in a short space of time. I have a female spymaster with the kinslayer trait and I estimate she has been hit by this event at least 5 times, probably more. Searching my history log for my last game in the time between sep 16 1081 - dec 26 1088 this event hit her twice:

1082-06-00 : July 1, 1082 : We went with Atone your sins! in Your sins have not gone unnoticed.

1086-02-13 : March 14, 1086 : We went with Atone your sins! in Your sins have not gone unnoticed.

At one point in my previous playing session (which I don't have the log for) she got hit by the event twice in one year.

I have tried the first 2 options (the ones without big negative effects like excommunication) the event gives you, but none have made any difference to the rapid refiring of this event. Now I always choose atone because I want to see how low her prestige and wealth can go, currently she is on -385 prestige and -1300 gold. She has only gained one lost negative trait, but that was not kinslayer (heratic, I think - I didn't pay much attention), but she has gained zealous several times now.

Hope that helps.

This event is still fairly undeveloped. :eek:o

For one it should not fire for non-rulers, for the other it was meant to be part of a whole series of sin/excommunication/negative piety associated events, but I haven't had time to script them due to workload.

Well she had the kinslayer trait, and whatever the opposite of zealous was. I know she lost several traits and gained zealous, but if the 2nd time i have the event it says she loses the traits again and gains zealous AGAIN that doesn't seem like it should be WAD. Anyway, maybe it was just a % chance of her losing the traits and gaining zealous. We'll see what happens tonight.

It's a bug alright, then, Martinus :D
