Muslim Bishops still a problem in 1.02

Been playing my first 1.02 game, and I think I remembered the readme saying that muslim/pagan bishop appointments has been fixed.

From BUGLIST :

33) Bishop of Altmark becomes and arabic muslim , non-Christians can hold clerical titles FIXED IN 1.02

However, when I became the papal controller, I noticed that my 3-4 muslim courtiers started getting promoted to Bishops (even an Archbishop)..

So, either the fix didn't work or it was just in regards to promoting bishops on your own (i.e. not the auto-pope-function which is quite annoying).

Also related, I think we should exclude people with no clerical education as well as children. My rulers 3 year old son (no education) was installed as Bishop.. I don't think that would have happened..

weird, we've had beta's confirm it was fixed

can others confrim this hasn't been fixed?

I can confirm that. I have seen pagan's as Bishops to.

If you marry your daughter to a muslim or pagan who is in your court, their kids stay pagan or muslim, you then can give them an ecclestian education so they can become bishops.

I haven't made one a bishop yet, but I have seen ai countries do it

From reading the change-list it seems it has only been made impossible to create bishopries for non-Christians, but no changes were made about the situation when a bishop dies and needs an heir. Is this the case?

I think that's right - I saw several muslim courtiers from my court promoted to bishops after becoming the Papal Controller.

That, as well as the case of auto-bihsoping for the Papal Controller, seems to be the case. I've not managed to promote a heathen to Bishop manually.. though I've been able to do so for dead characters..

I can also confirm this - I've seen at least 3 Muslim bishops in a very short time in my 1.02 game. Also one Orthodox bishop in Catholic territory - don't know if this is considered a bug, but it's extremely unhistorical. All were courtiers in the Kingdom of Portugal (my character), who was also Papal controller.

Definitely still a problem. It's totalyl hilarious when your muslim courtiers get promoted to archbishops by the pope.

Is there a way to block auto-papal boshops? I have had characters made bishop who I wanted to keep. Heirs in particular! Maybe at a cost of piety?

change your laws

I can confirm the Muslim bishops as well as non-suitable courtiers (martial or court education) becoming bishops in 1.02.
Also, as my court was still small I tried to get rid of the controller status by killing the pope (and some of his successors) with the F12 "die" command. At some point I even got a female pope!

Maybe this could be fixed in the following way:
Have the routine check for suitable successors in the pope's/papal controller's court. If there is none, check the liege's court regardless of his laws. If there is still none, have the land go to the pope while giving the former liege a claim on the title.

doesnt work, I play with Regal Supremecy.. Pope still grabks at random without my say so every time when im papal controller...
Can confirm Muslim bishops too

The law says that it is 100% your choice. It is NOT your choice, it is just 100% of your courtiers which gets taken ... which means that your court gets depleted in NO time when papal controller ...

I really hope that that isn't WAD

Muslim Pope

I had alot of muslim courtiers after my grande crusades playing as denmark, I then became Papal controller and a Pope was elected from my court, A MUSLIM!

Luckely, he was already more than 60 years old and died a year later, so it didnt affect the game..(The papal shield/avatar became a muslim small round one ^^)
