becoming pope

here's an easily reproducable bug

play as duchy of apulia, usurp the pope(king) of papal states, beat the pope and claim the title. instead of becoming king of papal state, you become pope of papal state!

if you usurp a higher rank title and manage to get it you change your id, but also, you change your social model(from feudal to church, or republic) and you basically scr**ed up your game...

bug or wad?

but if you get the title after you become king of naples everything works fine

I was quite confident this would be a duplicate, it seemed so familiar. Couldn't find it in Da List though, does anybody remember if it's been discussing in a thread that has an obscure name or something?

i don't know, i searched all the threads that had pope in their name, they didn't cover it. you probably know more.

I don't think you are supposed to play as the papal states, a bit like you are not supposed to play the knight orders, tat also screws up your game.

WAD.

EDIT: after having discussed this on the beta forum we reache the consensus that you should not be playing the papal states and as such its WAD that they game gets messed up.

We also agreed that on that note it should be possible to become Pope or ruler of the knight orders, so status is changed BUG.

i didnt play as papal state, i started as apulia, and the first royal tier i acquired was not naples but papal state and i turned into the pope

also: in one game england, sweden and norway became republics? also due to succession?
