3# Aussie Game 1.3a flexible weekly sessions.

Im going to organsie a game to start at a date some time after christmas so in about 2 weeks time.

The aim of this game is to get players together who want to play HOI 2 more often and have the time for it. You must be able to play on flexible weeknights from 7-11pm. On Fridays and Satursdays if sessions are arranged the times will be longer and later eg, 7-12 midnight or later if players want.

The main aim is to get multple sessions in during the corse of a week. Our current games are great but slow going.

I would like 8 players.

Germany - Mike8472
Italy - Munster
Japan - Gunship
Nationalist Spain - Col


UK - Major Ball
USSR -
USA - Nolan or BB
Canada - No_body

These nations are not fixed and some changes will be made.

Minors are flexible if some one wants to play another minor for some reason.

Game rules will be decided upon closer to the date, but they will be very limited.

So post here if you are interested & country preferance.

Well i would like to play Germany in 1 large game with 8 people before i move on to maybe Japan or Uk.

A game on most nights would be great. Maybe play with 3 CORE players (Hoi fanatics ) who ill turn up for every session. They could take say the USSR, UK And Germany. All other positions will be open on the night. (playes already playing a nation will have first pick of their country). If any NON CORE players cant play then the game goes on without them with their countries fully ai controlled or with their forces commanded by a core or other player.

GUNSHIP, MightyG and myself have a great game going at the moment. Up to April 41 after only 2 weeks play. Now with Japan and the USA entering the war we decided to bring in 2 NON CORE players and it worked well. Unlike us they are not fanatics and are not expected to play every session so the game is very flexible and can still be played most nights.

Good points. The aim is to have more frequent sessions, they dont have to go past 11 every night as we all work or most do. But yes sessions on numeruous nights of the week is the aim to get faster progress.

Would you Nolan be interested, and also Gunship (i know he is he lives for hoi) and mighty G. I know munster will play as he can play nearly anytime and long sessions. Bumble bee can probably play most sessions as well. Major could play most nights too (atlough hes getting on in age :rofl: )

Hi All

I might be available for the occassional game as I also live in Melbourne.

I do work full-time and am at uni part-time so game play 4-5 nights/week is a bit too much but would love to part of the action from time-to-time.

BTW, 'mike8472' did you used to play ST:BOTF? If yes, my name back then was 'Enigma' ... if you remember.

Yes i did use to play BOTF so did munster, good to see you again. I do remeber you, you liked the Klingons right?

I imagine this game would be played on as many nights as we can fit in, and hoi games tend to go over a few months. So if you want to be part of the game you have to turn up to regualar sessions from 7-11pm weeknights. Probably 2 nights during the week and maybe 1 night on the weekend, 3 sessions should be enough. Also weekend session would go till midnight or a bit later.

If you can handle that you might be able to play. You would need a broadband connection of 1500/128. We are using the 1.3a patch for hoi. Depending on your experience in MP in hoi 2, we normalym ake new players to the group play a minor nation for the first game. This is to see if people are realiable players & there connection holds up.

Also if you have ICQ that would help to organise session times. Cya around.

It's great to catch up with you guys again after so long! I hope your strategy has improved since last time when you played the Feds!! LOL :rofl:

3 a week would be about my max that I could play. As long as I know in advance when the games are I can work my schedule around the times.

No problems playing a minor (I kind of prefer them!) and I am with Telstra cable but not sure what the speed is. Also, as I am new to multi-player if you outline how I join your games that would be great!

I dont have ICQ but you can email me if you are happy to do that.

Well you did hide behind your cloak, panzie.

Telstra cable should be fine, same as optus. We play via direct ip connection. We normal meet in vnet and then go to direct, i give you my ip which you type in and conect to my game. More stable that way. We also use 1.3a patch so make sure you have it updated.

Im thinking of starting this game early in the week after Christmas, if people some people are free. Are people free to play boxing day, or the day after. We could start at 8pm so you can do all the family stuff during the day and have dinner. Im working but i get public holiday rates, but im home by about 7.30 so 8pm start would be fine.

Would love to try a game.

My ADSL connection is 512/512, so it might be marginal, but perhaps an Allied minor might be ok? Greece comes to mind, not massively important but still able to contribute somewhat, and not too much of a loss if my connection isn't up to it and I have to drop out.

I am on holiday until 30 Jan too, so can devote time to play

Friday is not really an option for me as im working from 11.30am-11.30pm. I can certainly do an all day saturday game or if people are free at lest a good 4 hours session.

saturday is my christmas, german tradition that runs in the family (and you wonder why i like germany its in the blood). But mrs working from 12-8 so i got most of the day.

So if all are up to it we can make a start on saturday, say 12pm. Lets see how that goes and who can make it.

Col as for your connection i think 512/512 houd be ok due to your high upload. We can only try and if it is an issue you may have to drop out, but cross that bridge when it comes to it.

I will try and fit every ones picks in but a few already have picked nations that others want so ill do my best.

Well ive alocated nations as a first go around. Main problem is with the USSR & USA. BB is not confident enough yet in her self to play the USSR. We really do need a reasonable player here who knows something about the USSR and how its played.

Maybe Col or No_body has experience here in playing the USSR, not sure. I would prefer majo not be forced to change from UK as me and him already have 1 game as Ger/USSR and UK needs a strong player as well, even more so in 1.3a.

So any volunteers for the USSR. So far we have 7 players, 1 more would be nice, maybe JH.

So guys plese confirm if you are happy with choices or confirm nations if you have a few picks plz.
