Stewardship, Peace Neg and Autosave CTD's

OK, All my problem might because I am runing CK 1.01 on and 2.3 gig with 256 ram and XP. But as Duke of Munster,
A) Stewardship id 4 naturally + 10 of steward yet on the pop from the gold I am hold my max demese is 2 with 6 provices I have a 50% penalty.

B) War decalre war on pagans, when I sue for peace giving or demand a tribute has no effect on paece outcome, I got 502 gold from king of narva (the one alongside reval in north eastern estiona) when I had a warscore of 0,

C) Regualary crashes on autosave and then the autosave wont load,

D) only 1097 and already 17 CTD's

Is this only me  or is it the computer.

PM me with an e-mail address if you want the save game file

I think for the demesne penalty only the ruler stewardship(without the assigned steward's value) counts!?

AFAIK, your Steward's Stewardship does not affect the size of your demesne - only your King's Stewardship does. What your Steward (added to King's) Stewardship does is to affect the gold collection from particular provinces - if you hold mouse over the income rating of province, you will see a hefty Stewardship bonus.

Thanks very much, You too Martinus,
My game as Duke of Munster(Ireland) has loads of CTD's yet playing as king of Poland I get none, Must be a rule against playing as your anscestors

i'm wondering if it's bug or not, but when somebody outside my kingdom inherits land owned by one of my vassals, i dont get any information about that. Historically the liege had to give at least formal approval.

your demesne limit is not your stewardship #

put your mouse over the "gold" icon on top right of your screen.

it ll show what your demesne limit is

I have trouble understanding how it's calculated tho

As a duke, you dont get any bonus. Kings get a x2 bonus

Byzantine emperor gets a HUGE bonus

This last part might be your computer. I've seen with earlier games that low RAM tend to lead to more crashes...

I have 1GB of RAM and I also avoid max speed, but I still have many crashes.

I have so far had 2 crashes and I am in 1155. The game runs quite choppy but i only have an amd 1800+ with 256 ram. My harddrive is fucked as it has never been defragmented or formated the last year.

But the crashes happened only when i had the speed above "above normal" that meaning fast or faster.

But the thing making the crashes is defenetly something to do with the RAM.
To me it seems if you are going to fast the computer cannot manage to interpret all the information. therefore i tend to play on normal or above normal speed.

I am now trying with some RAM managing programs, as well as defragging my computer while at school tomorrow :) I tell if it helps!

O.K. I took another 126 ram (+ my own 256 for 382) from a friends computer and the crashes have almost stoped, only 3 by 1150.

On Stewardship, the demese seems to be half the duke's base skill, I guess my crap demese is due to a crap stewardship score,

Thanks very much for all the help, Everyone

yeah, the demense limit is your (stew/2) x bonus.

Bonus is x2 for kingdoms and I think x1.2 for duke? So your demense is 4/2 = 2 x 1.2 = 2.4 ~2

Same for me.It's a real pain.
Might be the autosave.

I don't think it is the autosave. I have tried to test this and I seem to get an equal amount and equally random amount of CTD's with and without autosave and autosave at various intervals.

Most of the crashes have been fixed in 1.02.

The stewardhsip questions was answered.

The Peace issue, could other confirm this ?

OK, I'll mark this one as fixed.

Feel free to reopen a bug thread if you still have this peace issue problem in 1.02.

Please, verify first that the bug doesn't exist already in the buglist OR in the forum.

And please, only report one bug by thread.

Thanks,

Cat
