Provincial conversion events

In the provincial_conversion_events.txt, events # 1084, 1090, 9000, 9001, 9002, 9006 and 9007 consider twice as modifiers the naval_harbour, civilian_harbour and grand_shipyard, it surely is a bug...

By the way, I noticed while reading those events that 9000 and 9006 change culture to realm culture besides changing religion, while in the title it reads:

#conversion to [whatever religion] (religion only)

Province conversion events

In the file provincial_conversion_events.txt, the events for orthodox conversions are bad.Specifically they, for some strange reason, have "province_x_" tacked in front of "province_event".This causes the game to crash instantly if it tries to fire.

edit: Hmm, I found the "province_x_" in front of other conversion events too, but not all of them.Is the command simply bugged?Or was it something from beta, only to removed but missed?

Uh... That's a valid event type in CK... It's the same type of event used for all the tech events, too...

If province_x_ events don't work for you than you have more problems than simply the conversion events... ;)

It COULD be something else..... Either way I KNOW that the Orthodox conversion events should work, as I tend to play the Byzantines... :p

Are you trying to fire the events through F12 or something? How do you know that it's these events that are the problem? (I really don't know if province_x events can be triggered through f12... Haven't tried).

Must have been copy/pasted in twice accidentally... Thanks.... Fixing it now. :)

For the second problem it was simply that I forgot to erase the second event.... All spreading Islamic conversion changes culture, as Sunni/Shiite isn't seperate in CK... That way we get an Anatolia that actually becomes Turkish/Muslim instead of having huge amounts of Greek Muslims. ;)

Great :)

By the way, is there any proyect to write province events that changes culture? I mean that right now you only have culture changes if there is a different religion, and so you will never have culture spreading. I think it would be great to have such an event in the game, happening only if you control the place for a very long time...

I can't speak for any project, but I'm not sure in general if such a move would be good... After all, it's not like Calais became English in culture.... I can only think of maybe or or two provs where the culture switched during the period without a religious conversion going with it... Those areas could have special events written for them (either officially or unofficially, I reckon), much like Britain already does.... I have been told, for instance, that the Low Countries could use some special treatment here, better allowing simulation of the cultural switching between German, Frankish, and Dutch.....

I was thinking about the norman provinces, becoming french. or some polish provinces becoming german... Or if the iberian kingdoms would have dominated lands the other side of the Pyrenees (In EU2 two provinces to the other side have iberian cultures) So my thoughts are that there should be some events that spread culture, very hard to happen, but possible :)

Also, It has happened to me that I have conquered all of Iberia, and after the conversion events I have finished with one or two christian arab provinces, isolated and surrounded by castillians. I think that it is another case where the culture change should be possible.

Conversion & Heresy

I was crusading in Egypt and took Alexandria, which happened to be a heretic province. Got lucky as the prov. converted a couple years afterwards, but the place was still filled with heretics. Should the place have lost the Heresy tag when it converted? I mean, what do I care if the place was filled with heretic Muslims? My priests did teach them nice proper catholic practices when they took in converts, right?

Fixed those portions that require fixing for 1.03.

Note that p_x_p events can be tricky to read so the reported duplicates aren't in fact duplicated (see "to" and "from" identifiers).
