Unnamed Infants & Child Bishops

I've had a couple of small unusual things happen in my game so far. There was a courtier called "Unnamed Daughter" in one of the Irish counties (have just looked all over for her to get a screenshot, and can I find her...?)

Second thing might be WAD - there was a boy bishop appointed to somewhere in the south of France - he was 3 years old. Is this intentional?

Can you tell more of how you got the unnamed infant, what was special in that situation? Without that there's no way of finding the cause of it, although it might be helpfull also if you found that character in the save file and posted what is said about her there.

The boy bishop this is propably part of another bug where the male courtiers of the papal controller are called to duty no matter what their educational status is.

Well there was no real special situation, I was just trawling (endlessly!) for suitable wives, and these people were sitting around in courts or on family screens. I've found 6 in my savefile and will post the stats of one below. Interestingly 4/6 have the tag dyn=393, but perhaps crucially none ofthem have a culture - would I be right in assuming that if the game can't find a culture to take a random name from, it'll call the child "Unnamed Infant"?

Hope this helps.

Sorry I can't give you any better info than that - I can't load that saved game because it CTD's on me, all I can do is check the saved game file in notepad.
From looking at others I think the dynasty with three of these infants was Swedish, and another of the dynasties affected was of Catalan origin. Sorry I can't narrow it down a bit more.

Please if the 3 year old bishop is a bug do not correct it. It was not uncommon at the time. A pope even tried to make his ass a cardinal (the animal) to humiliate the curia.

I have someone called "Unnamed infant" who found their way into my court and servers me as a Marshall. I have seen a few people with this name in German courts also.

I will post details later when I can access the save file.

I found this bug in my game too. 11 Unnamed infants. I noticed all of the unnamed infants have a culture of "none"...

It just occured to me that the unnamed infants might have been born when the parents were in terra incognita while transferring between courts. Infants (usually) take the culture/religion of the father, but sometimes take the culture/religion of the mother or the home. In this case the home culture, being terra incognita, was "none".

ok, this sounds more and more like a serious bug.

This seems to be a very common bug. I have started about a dozen games and run them about 20 years and all of them have unnamed infants with a culture of none.. It is very easy to get this bug..

I wonder what happens when you marry one of these unnamed infants??

I have a save game if anyone wants it. :) After my two unnamed infants moved on I could not locate them. Have a screen shots too.
