[@ KofK : Japan will be dealt with in time]

Very interesting AAR. I shiver to think where we'd be (the US or the world in general) if the US had thrown its economic might behind the bad guys instead of the good guys (UK, not USSR  ). I'll be watching this one.

wow, were did those New Zelanders come from? That was a bit of a surprise, eh? :D

@ Josh Weber: For now it may be a bit disturbing, but who knows of Roosevelt's full plan?

@ quikstrike: Chemical weapons aren't in HOI2, so they will not be used in this aar.

@ Draco Rexus: I was surprised myself. Hopefully this sort of erratic AI behavior will be fixed in a later patch.

Due to the great interest that this AAR has experienced (my thanks to everyone who posted comments) I have gone over my photobucket account's bandwith limit. Thats why you cant see the screenshots. I'll need an alternative image host, so if you know of one, please inform me.

I have no exams tomorrow, so I will hopefully have the time to write an update.

As to Japan, they will probably be disappointed to see you take the Asian properties they consider to be theirs, but theu will probably be too tied up with the Chinese to care; that seems to be the way of it in my 3 games so far. Not being able to join the Axis, thanks to their alliance with their puppet, really ruins the scope of the war.

I've had the Japanese ally with the axis... no problem whatsoever... Italy was trickier...

Oh, and cool AAR btw :)

I have been watching this and it is a great AAR, I like the twist of the USA being the Axis. I haven't got the HOI2 yet because it doesn't seem to e out in the United Kingdom yet. I thought I better tell you your pictures all say Bandwidth expired, so you may want to use image shack instead. Good AAR!

MEMO
TO: President of the United States
FROM: Chief of Staff, General Malin Craig
SBJCT: SCARLET

Mr. President:
Enclosed are diagrams outlining our initial draft of the first phase of Operation Scarlet. Details of later phases, and forces required will be enclosed in later memos.

OPERATION SCARLET: PHASE ONE
OBJECTIVES: To obtain forward bases, and islands upon which such bases could be constructed for use during invasions of Scarlet. (*OOC: Scarlet refers to Australia and New Zealand). Secondly, to deny the enemy the use of such bases.

FORCES REQUIRED: (estimate) 3-5+ Carriers, 2-4 Battleships (to provide shore bombardments), 4-6 Heavy Cruiser, appropriate Light Cruiser and destroyer escorts for capitol ships. 3-5 Marine divisions, appropriate garrison forces, 5+ Infantry divisions. Later forces will follow up in preparation for phase 2.

TIME: December 1939- April 1940. Operation will commence after invaders Vancouver are dealt with, and forces are in position.

Here are the diagrams: (Blue arrows indicate planned advances)

@ King Fred VI, JoshWeber: Imageshack seems to be working. Thanks!

@ Nimrod: The question is not one of Japan joining the Axis, its how will Japan intereact with an Axis USA.

Oh, I can't wait to see how Operation Scarlet pans out! Let's be about it, eh? :D

Silly Question

You'll probably all shout at for being such a stupid rooky but (here it comes) can you post a link to a savegame for this AAR so we can all have a bash?

Sorry think I responded to someone elses post? about not being able to get Japan as an axis ally when playing Germany....

Axis USa is an intresting prospect indeed, I remember having USA join me When I was playing Germany in HOI 1 dunno if it can be done in HOI 2 though (I stand corrected if there is a post about it somewhere in this thread)
