I transferred the save to another computer and tried to put in the events on that computer. However, when I change anything from the defaults, I get an access denied message. What the heck is going on here?

If you're using Vista or Windows 7 don't install the game into Program Files - use a folder like games\doomsday.

Okay, I fixed that problem. However, I still have the other one that caused me to move the files in the first place. If I change anything, then the game has a heart attack and freezes when I load the save game during the "loading scenario" portion of the load. The only editing I have ever been able to pull off was when I edited one of the election events, and even that stopped working after a short time.
