After patching to 1.04c the launcher fails to start the game - and the game broke,too

I have seen in another thread to reinstall MS vc redistributable, but that didn't help.

Starting ck2.exe directly brings the game up, but after the startup tips the main screen went into full screen violet and I can't do anything.

Please advise.

If this is Steam: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.

If GamersGate: Move valued save games elsewhere, and uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 directories from where GG put them and from MyDocuments. Reinstall the game , download 1.04c patch again and apply it.
