No clue. I just used the restore Roman Empire decision as Byzantine Empire. Got this. Maybe you have an older version and they changed it in-between?What I'm more interested in is how you got the Roman Empire to be that amazing purple colour, rather than the awkward red-pink that I got.
No, I have the most recent version... I know that for sure... maybe it doesn't update since I started my save in 4.04?No clue. I just used the restore Roman Empire decision as Byzantine Empire. Got this. Maybe you have an older version and they changed it in-between?

He starts with the Strong trait and I got lucky with a hunting dog and some health boosting events. Even so, that is the longest I have ever lived/reigned I think. Over 60 years playing him!
Ironically his descendants are the most sickly accident prone bunch, he outlived all his children and his grandson who succeeded him got leprosy!
Hah, yeah, thing is forming the Carolingian Empire locks you to elective gavelkind and I didn't want my realm split into a million pieces (witness history) so i actually spent a lot of energy forcing my backup relatives to become monks60 years and only 7 children? even worse, only two bastards?
bastards are backups.
