Aswan declared independence from the Shia Caliphate. I declared Holy War on Aswan and successfully siege down the entire duchy I want. Aswan then surrenders to the Caliphate, and declares independence a few days later.
My men look on in confusion, having been expelled from the garrisons and then forced to return home.
Looking again, their second war was against the tyranny of the Caliph, whatever that means. Either way it was very cheesy. Regardless of the reason, I think it makes sense that the men should stay in the garrison until I have a chance to decide whether to go to war with the Caliphate or not (and I would have).
