I'm trying to make an event to cut down the list of female unmarried AI stewards/spymasters etc.
I'm pretty sure there is no effect to just marry them off so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how I can increase the likelihood some other way.
How exactly does the AI choose its marriages? I hope its not just random.

EDIT..
Just out of interest is there a list somewhere of triggers and effects, so that when I come to terms with the fact that this is not going to work I can console myself by trying something that does.

If you want to arrange AI-marriages through events, then that is not possible.

For a complete list of triggers and effects look in Crusader Kings/db/events/event effects.txt

There you will find all the triggers, conditions and effects that are possible.

Additionally, while I agree it would be nice in principle (I still miss wedding off my courtiers directly), apparently after a century or two, it makes the game hell to run or save: normally unconnected people are pruned from the system, but with this model, every random courtier would need to be recorded through the end of the game.

Fantastic, now I know exactly what I can and can't do.
I think I'll give up on the marriage idea but start looking at ways to make silly marriages less attractive. ie penalties for different culture spouses, bonuses for marrying within your realm etc. maybe even relate it to the stats so that the Russian uber-steward seems less like an easy boost to Leons economy and more like a resentful alien in a foreign court.

Now I have the trigger list its time to get my imagination in gear!

Thank you
