Sorry if this is a known issue (didn't see it in the known bugs thread).

Now, I am playing the old gods worshiping Brandon Stark, Warden of the North under Red god worshiping Stannis Baratheon and my church of the seven allies (the Tyrrels and the lord of Kingswood) won't join my war against my church of the seven enemy the lord of the Westerlands because if I remember correctly there is a ----- modifyier due to me being their religious enemy. They will however join my war on the red god worshiping lord of the riverlands.

Is this intended ? Is this a reaction to Stannis winning the war and threatening the church of the seven with his red god ? Are the worshipers of the seven now just bumping old gods worshipers and red god worshipers together ? Or is this just a bug ?

I can provide a savegame and screens if needed.

You can change that if you want. Go to Documents -> Paradox Interactive -> Crusader Kings II -> Mod -> A Game of Thrones -> Common -> Religions -> 00_religions

Change the fourth line from hostile_within_group = yes to hostile_within_group = no and then they can join your wars normally.

It is because you are technically a different religion even if in the same group, nothing we can do about that.

Ah ok. Are there some negatives to Blackwolfpts solution then ?

Yeah think I will do that unless there is a big negative I am missing. given how important it is to the ASOIaF series that Old gods and Seven worshiping lords can be allies.

My solution simply removes the "will not join against brothers of the faith" modifier between old gods and faith of the seven. Lore wise there is no indication that ever happened (the fact that they won't join wars against each other). The old gods and the seven are different faiths true, but they are tolerant of each other. There are no negative results from applying this.

Besides they will still have to like you more than your enemy for them to join so the fact they share the same religion already makes it difficult for them to join your wars since they will have a -10 opinion of you for following a different faith, but not make them impossible like it is now.

The best example is this: As Eddard Stark I declared revolt against the rule of Aerys Targaryan and asked Robert Baratheon for help. There was "will not join against brothers of the faith" so he refused despite the fact that he has a +100 opinion of me and -100 with Aerys, so his refusal doesn't make any sense. If it happened In the books, of course he would join, we are friends and he hates the mad king's guts.

Yeah exactly :). If I change that yes to a no the mod represents the world much better, true there was a tiny bit of tension between the faiths, but the lords were still very tolerant of each other.

The modifyer perhaps made sense for an earlier era, around the time the Andals invaded Westeros, but that time is long passed when the mod takes place.

Plus the Ironborn are in a seperate religion group.

Thanks a lot :D.
