Hey all, it's your favourite newbie again :D

I'm playing the Grand Campaign as France now. I'm trying to beat the crap out of England as fast as I can (I'm being historically correct :D :D )
I'm allied with Scotland (constant 200 relation, but can't get them to be my vassals) and, partly with their help, I've managed to take two provinces from Ireland, Calais and two provinces from England so far in four crazy wars (Don't you just HATE Navarra for being so damn difficult to annex??) Scotland got The Marches too.
So now I'm around 1550 and once again, hell has broken loose between France (me) and England (Grrrrrrr), I had been preparing this war for 5 years and now after this exhausting war, I'm in control of every province England owns.

I tried to annex those blasted British, but I didn't get the screen. (You know, that screen where they ask you if you want to annex the country)

I figure it's because Scotland is in control of one province of England as well. But Scotland doesn't seem to want to make piece with England..

Am I doomed to wait for Scotland to make peace with England, or is there any way to still annex England..
Or am I just completely wrong on the subject?

You cannot annex a major power...that is why England doesn't offer the Annex offer. All you can do is take all of her territory EXCEPT for the capital.

Your monarchs diplomacy rating has a lot to do with whether or not a country will accept Vassalization. If your monarch has a low rating you will probably never succeed and will need to wait for a better monarch.

Doh!

DOH!

*Completely* forgot about that! Arrrgghh.. I wasted 15 years on this damn long war..

Thanks a lot for the help Tim!

Grrr.. Wasted so much time, money and troops!! I'll go bang my head against this concrete wall for a while now.

But still the problem isn't that big... If England ends up with only it's capital that early since it hardly has any colonies either then, it is in all aspects dead... Anglia isn't that large a province and with France on their shores you can always every now and then attack them, demand enourmous reparations and crush their armies...

Hmmmmmmm I like that idea ::grin::
Damn that England-Navarra-Helvetica alliance, Navarra is a pain the *ss to fight, and so is Helvetica.

Thanks for the info all

P.S. Oh, and sorry for the mispost, I'll post questions in the FAQ-forum in the future :)

Yep, but thats why the BB value is good for. Giving you a bad rep. if you keep milking the soup outta the minor every now and then.

...and if it turns out historically correct you are doomed to failure :)

Seriously, I'm playing quite a lot as France and, apart from Calais, I don't really bother too much with England. I concentrate instead on nations on the mainland, Lorraine, Savoy and the other northern Italian states. One huge advantage is I don't need a navy. Still, I am also a newbie and having my own difficulties with annexation.
