If you use the SKIF installer on Mod 34, you get infantry icons with roman numerals instead of dates. Then just import them to CORE (that's what I did anyway. It doesn't get all of the models, but it gets most).
There is a thread somewhere in this "non-searchable-chaos" with a pack of skif-icons made compatible with core.
I´m using it and its mostly good work, even the differences regarding 9 and 6bn are showing on many icons. But a lot of them are also "messed up?" (not shure about the words) - for most example polish and some finish units use late (1945/47) icons for the 35 and 39 or all troops.
I wasnt able to sort this all out yet, else I´d post some redone version.
