So, I'm writing up a program to trim save files and, in testing it, I came across the most bizarre thing.

A count is dead, but still ruling a county. It seems as though he died without any successors, and without a liege, so the game had no one to give the county to... so he's just there. Being dead. And a count. Blood may be involved.

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or not (after all, what else is the game supposed to do in this situation?) Has anyone else encountered this?

The Undead Bishop is a very common bug I think. I had this fellow called Wodjuta Piast in my court, I made him Archbishop of Normandy. He became Pope. When he died, he came back to my court, and I could create a Bishopric wtih him as Bishop. :eek:o

or use the die-cheat on him

Select this 'dead' character
Open the console with F12
type in: die
Close the console with crtl+F12

That saves you the time that it takes to save and reload.

This guy is actually an independent count, not a bishop. "Anselm of Lucca," to be precise.

Interestingly, if I use the "die" command on him, it will apparently put a steak through his undead heart, and the game seemingly generates a random count to take his place.
