Given how the game slows down late game and the devs have said they need to be very careful adding more goods to avoid a major performance hit, I think new good would need to provide a substantial benefit to the simulation (or immersion).
Bicycles are very interesting because they could be an earlier middle class transportation demand.
I’d be very interested in seeing an implementation of services for factories (probably for more advanced PMs rather than intro level factories). That would provide an actual use for urban centers rather than leaving them largely understaffed. Not a new good, but it could change things greatly (and represent the professional class of accountants, lawyers, bankers, etc.).
I’d love some sort of transportation/infrastructure rewrite so that railroads change from being always out of whack to being the highly profitable industries they were in history. Though, that’s probably a much bigger topic than new goods alone.
The other thing mentioned here that could be interesting is pharmaceuticals. It could be consumed by urban centers to represent doctors with appropriate institutions. It could start out only made from opium and later be added to the synthetics plant as an output instead of (or in addition to) luxury fabric. I think that there is lots of potential there,
