Horde or Alliance?
And why that choice?
And how noobs are you?

Horde, because cow creatures are awsome, however I quit WoW around lvl 40 because it was too hard to level at same pace as friends and it was boring to play alone (please learn from good systems like city of heroes blizzard)

Methinks they love DW a little bit too much. :p

we switch back in a bit when the awesomeness of new avatars is outweighed by the annoyance that people dont notice our posts :D

I have a question that is probably quite unimportant, but i am going to put it out there anyway :) . I recall the whole 200k celebration from some months ago, complete with a beautiful icon and all...So, i was under the impression that it was meant to celebrate the forum having 200k members. Just a few minutes ago though, i noticed the board mentioning 197k + members. So the question becomes obvious: what is the actual membership of the forum? Did membership decrease due to some internal reorganization of the member database, or did i just misread that number? I am aware of how unimportant the issue is, i just thought that this would be the only thread where i could address it in :)

We dumped a lot of members when we updated the software, mostly banned members, adbot, non verified mebers and the like.

Regarding the Demi Mod question.

If it is for one of our games, we tend to recruit from the beta testers (by posting an offer to apply).
If one of the third party games request a DM we look at who is active in that forum.

1) Then they must also have a pretty clean record.
2) Be active.
3) Generally be a positive and helpful poster.

We then get feedback from forum staff, then BiB and myself decide from a short list.

Of course, just like real life, who you know counts as well and it is possible to get parachuted in for a particular reason.

They conduct a rigourous training session on Dagobah. Personally, I had to run around a forest with Johan on my back lifting spacecraft out of lakes with my mind before going into a cave to fight an apparition of King, but when I chopped his head off it was my face I saw. Johan thought I wasn't ready to be a mod yet but Darkrenown reminded him that if I failed, there was always my twin sister RedRachelWiggum.

Now this made us laugh, thank you for making my day. :)

Linked to current situation here : what happens in your offices when you run out of coffee ?

We did a few month ago I think. I'm not sure what happened, since I don't drink coffee I hardley noticed.
We do have a small machine someone brought from home though, I wonder if it comes from that period. :)

Guess I need more friends. Thanks for the response.

Don't be sad! I think it's a good thing that we have so many active sensible and helpful members to choose from when we need a new demi-mod. It's you guys that make this forum a really nice place to hang out in!

Interestingly, Johan is user #2... and user #1 has a join date in 2001 :p

Anyone at Paradox can say how that happened ?

I think Patric worked at Pdox earlier... Or something like that. Why it says he joined in 2001 I really don't know :p

Patric worked for Paradox and was the one resposible for putting up the forum. But something happened with the forum/server and he had to recreate his account if I recall correctly. That's why his join date is screwed up, but he was the first one.

Paradox, who else got hired during your last hiring session besides Darkrenown? And that was a great pickup.

Me, artfox, and JohanLerstrom.

Wow...amazing. Seems Paradox really imvests the money well. :)
Did you had this name before.....or have you changed it...since you are at Paradox?

Next question would be....if it was not already asked: How many of the Paradox Team, started as normal users here in the forum?

King, Besuchov, Doomdark, Darkrenown and me. Maybe Brother Bean also. And yes, I have another name :D

Why should the original account now be inactive? Johan has two accounts as well and uses both of them regularly.

True, and I like to walk through the forum incognito from time to time... ;) Haven't used it much lately though as I don't want to keep loging out/loging in all the time.

Unless, like Johan, he has a home and a work account... and therefore still uses the two ;)

Well that was my initial idea, but I sometimes need to be logged in on my work account at home, and as I said above I don't want to login/log out all the time.

I was... But I was REALLY NOT active :-( I have been in the game industry for almost 5 years. I still enjoy the computer games more than ever, but during my spare time I usually play them instead of writing about them.

So, while sitting here in bed, munching tasty peanutbutter cookie, it occurs to me:

What are y'all's favorite cookies?

There's a cookie called "mandelberg" in Sweden that I think is my favorite, I haven't really pondered which cookie I like the most. A mandelberg is an almond and chocolate covered meringue cookie about the size of one or two fist (two fists for me, I have rather small hands). I like macaroons, chocolate chip cookies and Oreos as well.

no matter the cookie I prefer to just eat the dough. but any choc chip cookies are good

None. "Going Gold" normally reffers to the master copy being sent off to be copied and boxed etc. Sometimes people complicate matters by releasing a "Gold edition" later with expansions/patches included etc, but they can do that whenever, there's no set numbers they need.
