Will absurd naval combat in HoI3 ever be fixed (WW2 CAGs able to fight at night, subs being useless agains warships and super useless against CVs etc.) ???

Oh and will you add casualty stats? (just like in AoD)

Why shouldn't planes be able to fight at night?

And subs are generally useless against CVs and battleships if they have escort cover.

Two fine points, esp. the Sub one, have you ever played SH3? If a ship has any sort anti-Sub cover things get very very hard.

Re: Planes, it's pretty damned hard to see them at night, especially without any on-board computer support.

Uh, yeah. SHIII is exactly where I'm drawing my conclusion, which is the same as yours, from.

Re: Planes, it's pretty damned hard to see them at night, especially without any on-board computer support.

Not as hard as you might think. A battlefield is rarely pitch black, and light from the moon and stars alone is enough to spot an enemy.

A plane can fight at night, but a little less effectively.

Well... No. I am artfox. Nice to meet you. I hope that you will be happy with my answers anyway.

A new Paradox lutin... how nice ! Welcome

Not over the sea. And night carrier landings without instruments are generally reserved for the insane.

Not over the sea.

The moon gives the same effect the sun gives during the day.

Who said that you can't use intruments? Sure, with no instruments, it would be rather suicidal. But why are we suddenly not allowed to use intruments?

Sorry, rather, without radar and the like. WWII era instrument-only carrier night landings were extremely dangerous, and generally were avoided wherever possible.

Guys you are way off topic of this thread.
Everyone please restrict your posts to questions to Staff.
Take other conversations to PM or OT.

Really this works to your advantage, If you clutter this thread up you will get less responses.

Exactly why I suggested it....Capaitalism 2 sucks...
...in your humble opinion... Cap 2 is a bit aged, now, but it was revolutionary at the time and is still the best business sim out there. If you mean "it sucks" in the (apparently fashionable) sense of "it doesn't model (my imagined) reality perfectly so it could be better", then that is true of everything up to and including reality, but sitting around bitching about it won't help.

In an attempt to drag this back to the topic at hand - Paradox, have you ever considered having non-governmental organisations as playable entities in any game? Playing as multinational corporations, the UN/League of Nations or the Catholic Church, that sort of thing?

Kallocain: Are there posters (no need to name names) who make you cringe when you see threads from?
