(see, not all talk!) so remade a mech I originally did for the table top game and then redid for playing mechwarrior II mercenaries back in the day using the famous NAIS mod tool. Now available over on the Nexus

She'll look like Colobos Rifleman IIC in game just slightly smaller if you have the mech resizer mod installed as the IIC is a 65 tons mech and this is supposed to be a 55 ton mech. Not absolutely essential. Modtech of course is required but other then that it's a standalone mod. A fast moving energy boat with and an enhanced Death From Above attack. All these abilities are from careful study and editing of the games normal files that make up a mech.

The mech uses 13 internal Double heat sinks using a system I figured out recently so as to not have to make zero mass one special upgrade equipment space equipment to fake it. The picture above is of a mech with a cooling capacity of 78 points per turn. She generates heat slowly in all but the nastiest environments.

This took me too many hours to put together today. My paradox install of battletech just gets pissy about being modded but it took off right away in my steam instal. I should have done that first. Anyway coming up on 5 am here I need to get my 63 year old self to bed!

Good job, congratulations on your first mod!

What I recall of MechWarrior 2 Mercenaries was to load a 'Mech with tons of MGs because there was a bug that allowed you to get near unlimited ammo. And the Kodiak, of course.

it was easier them even that.. Max your armor, load 3, just 3 medium pulse lasers load up on heat sings and then proceed to circle strafe everything in the game to death. This was the typical in multiplayer with smaller mechs having the advantage due to just being small targets that move really fast. As long as you didn't overheat which if you set your mech up right would almost never happen you were fine.!
