Okay, that's two threads for antiviruses saying that the HOI editor is a trojan. I say not. Firstly, I have seen and checked that those can't "decide" what trojan it is. First it's a downloader, then a remote control file. (Checked on Avast!, AVG, Norton and McAfee). Secondly, I do not believe that Paradox would give us a trojan like "Hey, here's your game, enjoy the trojan inside it". I mean, many old-time players had it, and they didn't have any problems since 1.0. I had it at 1.0 too and it didn't cause any trouble. The thing is that, most possibly, the antiviruses are now modified the way they find the editor as a virus/trojan, because it modifies other files like viruses and trojans do. I say that someone affected by this does the following:
Avast! - Go to Program Settings > Exclusions > Browse, and add editor.exe from HOI's directory. (Input from LiamRiordan)
I am not sure about the rest.
I may be wrong, but still, that's what I think about this. Discuss.

I have been using editor regularly for years and I've had no problems with it (I keep backup files just in case though).

And yes I had this bloody problem too. Panicked there for a while when the problem wouldnt go away at first, but then I just added the HoI editor to the Avast's background protections ignore list.

All right I did a clean re-install through Gamersgate, and during the install two files were picked up. They had the same type of virus as the editor, Worm/Trojan.

I put the entire Paradox Interactive folder under the exclusion but I still cannot use the editor, I like making some of my own scenarios. But now I cannot use it.

I am considering using a different virus scanner other than Avast!. :(
