AUTO-MERCHANTS or MANUAL?

I'm a newbie .. . for me now it's easier to set the CoT to Assign Merchants Automatically . . . but as I prepare to start managing my own merchants I have a question:

Does the Assign Automatically trigger pertain to each and every CoT individually? For example, if there are 5 Cot's that are of high value and a bunch that are lower, can I set the Automatic to YES in the five high ones and leave the low ones on MANUAL . . . of course my hope is that EU will keep my merchants constantly in the high value Cot's and ignore the low ones.

Will this work like that?

Manual

I suggest doing it yourself, the computer doesn't always make the most sound decisions with your merchants.

Yes, especially in the beginning of the game the Ai easily overspends by sedning every available merchant as long as there is any money left.
Usually your not getting that much back however since your tradetech isn't very well developed.

Later in the game when money isn't an issue anymore it can be used somewhat more carlessly =)
