Aztec forced vassalization error

this is a two part error. ( latest game version )
playing in ironman mode.
i had progress bars sticking to my screen. so i manually saved the quit game to try and reload the game to remove the visual error.
but when i did, i had lost all 6 of my forced vassals, while one of my allies where able to keep theirs.

i cant find the save file either. nor error log

I had a look at your save. You enacted one of your religious reforms on 1458.12.11 (less than a month before the date of your backup save). Enacting a reform grants independence to all your vassals.

oh, I didn't know that happens.
now I know to not do a reform until I integrated them all.
thanks, I thought I had experienced a bug.

You need 5 vassals to do a reform. You can take a few provinces from the countries when you vassalize them so that you don't lose too much. But make sure that you don't grow so much that you can't handle the doom from the provinces anymore. The more reforms you finished, the less doom you get per province per year.

trying to do the Aztec achievement and this my first time trying. I'm usually not one to hunt for achievement's.
