One line summary of your issue
Battletech crashes to desktop when loading tactical missions

What platform are you running the game on?
Steam

What operating system do you use?
Windows 10

Which version of the game are you running?
1.9. etcetera

What DLC do you have installed?
None

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I downloaded the game to Steam on August 20. Played with no problems that day and the next. Starting on August 22, the game would freeze on the loading screen whenever I tried to launch a tactical mission. I can interact with everything on the Leopard. But when I try to accept a contract and deploy, I get a frozen version of the launch screen (the Leopard is hanging over a motionless planet). Eventually the game shuts down and dumps me back to the desktop.

Have you tried verifying your files?
Yes

Steps to reproduce the issue
1) Load Battletech.
2) Go to Contracts.
3) Accept a contract, assign mechs/pilots.
4) Click Deploy button.
5) Game freezes on the mission loading screen.

I'm afraid your AMD Radeon HD 6570 is well below the minimum requirement of the game, the AMD Radeon HD 5870:

You could try turning off Ambient Occlusion in the game, tha has helped with older AMDs before.

Good luck with that!
