Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
After a recent GPU-related crash during the game, the game now launches, but hangs on a black screen at the point that it should play the opening cinematic. I have tried rebooting, verifying my game files, and doing a complete reinstall of the game, all to no avail.

The crash apparently corrupted the profile file.

Please go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Harebrained Schemes\BATTLETECH\ and delete the profiles.dat file .
Note it may be under Local, LocalLow or Roaming, depending. To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.
