Setting normal/normal.

Unit limits is on. (hope this will be also in de final version)

Went historical all the way (means for example that i go with yes in Schacht replaced by Funk. Also build FTR,INT,CAS,TACT,STRAT, PARA, Subs)

Im now in 1940 march. All goes normal. The JAP AI does a nice job in China, and USSR did just trigger the end of winter war) ITA did also the normal things.

Some issues:

- Allies bombers try to do massive attack on 1 div in rostock. more then 10 planes try to ground bomb that div in Rostock. They keep doing that very long without a result because of dug in. Maybe its better they use interdiction?

- Less IC bombing. The allies does more infra bombing. Maybe better that the AI concentrated a little more on ic bombing missions?

- Penalty stack for naval units is maybe a little high? Or is that WAD? Because a navy of 20 ships under the command of Reader( can commands 20 ships) has 75% penalty.

- Daily dissent progress is not displayed well.

- By intelligent options u have the name "counter espionage" but if u click that u decrease your intelligency. Need to change the name i guess.

- Almost all countries have there supplies in the minus while they have big plus in money. When in war this changes though.

- Japan did make peace with Comm China on 1 april 39. Is that logical or WAD?

- Vlassov get embarked in MR pact. But i don't see him in my leaders list. Will he come later available? (Novograd?)

-Rivers Warsaw are wrong. If u look at the map u see a river between Radom and Warsaw. But when attacks from Radom there is no river penalty. Between Lublin and Warsaw is not a river on the map, but when starts a fight u have the river penalty.

- Range Submarines (model 36) in stats is 5000 km, but when u hover the mouse over the sub it says 10000km.

- In building tab u see for the subs that u have 2 brigades (Snorkel and guided Torpedos) but u can't select them.

Update.

Im now in juni 40. I annexed Norway in may and Denmark surrended. Also the Netherlands, Belgium surrenders. Vichy France fired in 19 juni 40.

The AI France is better then in Platinium, but even no big problem. The new map with Paris is cool but it makes it also easier to surround Paris.

Ok some things i noticed:

- I attack Oslo with ampibious assault. 3 INF 39 DIV lead by a lt-general. Then i decided to also drop a fallschirmjager (Paratrooper) I was stunned by the stats of the PARA. -75% penalty for dropping, but even worse it had also a overcommanding penalty. I thought it was from a different (air)direction (like i would attack from Kristiansand) But it counts from the ampibious attack. Is that WAD or ?

- The Denmark surrenders event fires pretty late. So i had also the choice to annex them. Maybe makes this event fired faster when for example Copenhagen is conquered. Would also be nice to see an event pupping up when HOL, DK and BEL got there surrenders events.

- Some strange speed stats from the divisions lead by Guderian. Guderian leads 3 inf 39 div in Essen. Another leaders commands INF 39. By all INF 39 it says speed 7.0 km, but by Guderian it says 7.4 km. I didn't use offense supply or Brigades. In the end they went both even fast to Maastricht. Maybe just a text error.

- When i was bombing 14 French divisions, all french divisions (lead by FM) gets a 60% stacking penalty.

- Italy does nothing against France after they joined Germany. Even when Grenoble is undefended.

- Return provinces Vichy and Italy does not work good for Tunis, Kassarine, Sousse, Sfax and Gabes. They are controlled by ITA and owned by France still. Should they not go to Vichy too?

Ok i go preparing for the Africa Korps and maybe UK seelowe.

Some suggestion about the Narvik event.

Now u get a dissent hit of 2. For most players this dissent is not so worse, and they can even decide not to invade Norway (less partisans, better for tc , no need to defend Norway so more troops available for somewhere else.

Maybe its interesting to change the event which makes it more worthwhile to invade Norway.

I remember an event from HSR (historical stone road) that gives Germany less ic (like -5% or 10%) This while stay in place untill u got Narvik under German control and so Norway. That ic decrease while make the Human player really want to take out Norway.

I know HSR (in fact I know all mods). But these are hardly realistic.
In WIF I tried to simulate the real effect of not controling the iron ore road : Germany could not import swedish iron ore anymore.
In game, Sweden is supposed to stop trading with you until you meet some requirements. Does this work ?
If it does work but does not cripple german industry, then I will have to make Germany more "swedish-dependant". Just let me know.

Yes it does works. I got the dissent hit of 2 and Sweden cancels all trades. When i got Narvik they start trading again.

But it doesn't hurt the German industry. Not in my situation though.

So I need to make Germany more dependent to swedish metal right ? By reducing german metal production ?

Yes that would be a good idea i think.

Ok now something happend which surpised me :rofl: USA joins the Allies on 29 aug 40!!!

2 days ( 27 aug 40) before that the USA had the event "USA went with we must be prepared for war with Germany in the arsenal of democracy"

I didn't do anything strange. I was only shipping some troops to North Africa.

Should i play on while USA is in war or is it better to reload a save game for that the USA goes in Allies? Because of the test USSR AI-versus Human?

Little update.

Start Barbarossa on 22 juni 1941. Six days later i can tell its tougher in the north/center then it was in Platinium. The fights are longer. That's good.

In south it goes as normal. My panzers are already heading to Melitipol.


Some issues:

-When redeploying divisions to the same province they get to stick together. For example: 1 divisions lead by major general Guderian and 1 division lead by major general von Manstein redeployed to Konigsberg. The result after the redeployment = von manstein got both divisions under his command. Guderian is in the commander pool.

- Rennes don't have a beach anymore.

- no picture by the event of splitting Yugoslavia.

I don't know if the version I downloaded few days ago is the newest one, but I am playing as Australia and the US also declared war on Germany in autumn 1940...
 
How many days ago ?

Roughly a week ago.

I reloaded the game and the US stayed neutral like it was supposed to. Strange.

BTW, where should I post some other findings and observations? :)
 
Ok barbarossa is on it's way.

I reach Moscow round 5 augustus and conquered at 15 aug 41. Its, now september and in the south im heading my way to Maikop/Batum area. In the center i just hold the line (Moscow/Orel) In the north i capture Archangelsk. This cut of their troops in Finland and the area of Leningrad.

Issues:

-Strange that the important habour of Archangelsk is undefended. Maybe put a GAR in it?

- Leningrad is out of supplies. Maybe make an event which gives Leningrad supplies when it's get cut off. Now it get's only supplies when u conquered the 2 provinces which have borders with Leningrad right.

-Conquering Sevastopol don't give a dissent hit anymore to USSR. WAD?

- Dissent hit Fall of Moscow doesn't give a dissent to the divisions of USSR. All other dissents do work well.

- Tblisi/Maikop area gives an Unknown string wanted, if u want to bomb that area or hoover your mouse over that area.
