(Havard, here is your chance to show off your admin skills - the taboo beta thread.)

Sergei, is CK beta close enough that we should hold off applying for Victoria beta? Or will Victoria beta be over in time to get in on CK beta?

Do both!;)

yes, you can always step down from the victoria beta, should you be accepted in the ck beta.

don't make the mistake that I made, I didn't apply for th HoI beta because I thought CK beta was just around the corner

I applied to the Victoria Beta, if i get into it i'll stick to it. If I'm not accepted to the Victoria Beta, then I’ll apply to CK:).

The betatesting of CK is done by Paradox, and we will announce the beta application for CK when it reaches the same stage as Victoria is in now, ie about a month from public beta testing.

Nothing stops you from participating in multiple betas.

Go for Victoria. From what we know, the beta testers for CK will get a pretty complete game (Sergei has said that the beta testing will be pretty short for CK)

Hence: Apply for both :) Since CK beta starts after Vic you cen even increase the chances of being picked for CK by doing a good job with Vic in the meantime... ;)

What are you doing here? Get over into the Vic forum! ;)

Seriously, when I applied for the HoI beta, I was afraid it'd make me miss the CK beta. But I figured any beta would be good. ;)

Well not much is happening there right now except the beta thread....

and I have no reason to follow that one anymore...;)

Thought you had filed your NDA already. ;)

Nevertheless, I'm not sure if I could do two betas at the same time - unless Paradox pays me to do so, and I can quit my daytime job. ;)

yes of course. You resign from your job, you get divorced, and you cut all ties with your friends, so you can do multiple betas :D

for me, one was enough :) but for people with more time on their hands, I suppose they could handle two concurrent beta.

Though, CK beta having been delayed before and Serguei having said a few times the beta was just around the corner... I would say get into Victoria beta if you are interested; I personally doubt CK beta will be announced before August, but that is just a guess by me.

beta-testing for CK will be short and focused on game balance (how much money you start with; how aggressive AI is, and can you find a turnaround that needs fixing; how many provinces does you MIL skill open; etc.), by the time the game is in the testing all interface issues -- except negotiation screen -- are to be closed. so instead of reporting stability bugs or interface clutches we would want the team to play on a task-based basis, i.e. "reach XXX gold in the shortest period" and then review the strategies they have undertaken to win.

Except the limited amount of time I have to spend on the computer each night.:(

Oh well, since Johan suggested it I guess i will apply for Victoria now. If I don't make the cut I'll look forward even more toCK beta. :)

I'm just hoping I'll be allowed to participate in one beta much less both... :(

Oh, I'm not trying to be greedy. I'll settle for one. Just that I have waited so long for CK beta that I feel I want to get involved with Victoria while I am waiting for CK. And if what I understand from Sergei's post CK beta will be short because it won't be open until most of the problems are resolved.

Even if I do get into Victoria I will apply for CK.:)

Sounds good. But does that mean that we will have to try to exploite the AI flaws so you can twist it and prevent us from doing that, or that we should try to use more orthodox/fair rules, and that you will balance the game accordingly?

Kevin :)
