you can always circumvent AI, the more complex AI the easier to find a backdoor. so we'd rather start with the balancing of fair mode, and eliminating easy cheats that are obvious.

BTW Russian forum has found a way to trade provinces in EU2 and is all excited -- apparently you need to click on "+" while pressing "-"to get the price of settlement into negative. this is example of high style cheats that are art, and we won't try to eliminate these of course :p

?

Is that only in the Russian release of the game, or is it in other versions too? Guess I'll have to go experimenting soon. ;)

Seriously, no matter what you do with the AI, there's always going to be some people who find shady ways to exploit it. I think it will always be like this until someone can program an AI that can learn from human responses, just as we can learn from the AI responses.

Please remind me never to play EU2 with Russians. ;)

Seriously, I do see a problem if cheats are allowed in MP.

Thought you had filed your NDA already. ;)

Nevertheless, I'm not sure if I could do two betas at the same time - unless Paradox pays me to do so, and I can quit my daytime job. ;)

grr... I filed my NDA on Friday, but still no access to the beta forum. I guess Patric doesn't work on weekends ;)

I know I'll be somewhat limited in my time for beta-testing. If CK actually goes into beta while Victoria is in testing, I'll probably try and get into the CK beta, but won't have as much time. But since the CK beta seems much less strenuous than the Victoria beta (looking for fewer things from the betas) perhaps that won't be such a bad thing...

In May, when I got into the Victoria beta, I got the email from Johan with the NDA five minutes after I had left the office.... I managed to survive till the next morning. ;)

The betatesting of CK is done by Paradox, and we will announce the beta application for CK when it reaches the same stage as Victoria is in now, ie about a month from public beta testing.

Nothing stops you from participating in multiple betas.

Time? I'd rather do a good job on one beta than a bad job on two.

Is this true, or merely a joke? If it's true, can someone plz explain it more clearly?

What were your other names?

I think that my first ID was Helias. It is the one I usually use.

I was on the board from the time EU I was released but there was a time when I was away for a few months. When I came back to the board I had changed email accounts (and ISP) and I could not remember the password I had used so I had to make another identity - I can't really remember what that was.

I changed to Crazy Canuck in response to a post that said that the word Canuck was derogatory and should not be used. Being a big Canucks fan you can guess what my reaction was to that.:D
