This would be something to change in EU2, I would vote. Make it where you can load them if you are in port in the same province. Another thing would be to change the way the reorganization of armies works. It would help to be able to select leaders when you reorganize, rather than only being able to split historical leaders by equally dividing your forces, having to move them, recombine them, etc. And of course being able to reorganize your forces during a siege is a must as well.

Somewhere out there, Hartmann, hopefully you are reading this & can add them to the wish list(s) you compile.

It's sort of a relief to note that somebody else had this problem as well. This definitely should be in the manual (and if it's there, it should be stated more clearly).

Hi All !

This is no defense. i just want to tell you that I think this is the most common error in the game. Probably because the way to do it is not intuitively logical. It is in the manual under the tutorial section. However it is as Kekkonen says it should would have been best if it had been highlighted say written in bold with big 'remember-flags'. However, when I wrote the manual I did not understand that this would cause people problems, mainly because I thought people would play the tutorial to learn the game. Well, I was wrong. :)
About changing this... well i'll talk to Johan but I can't promise anything.

P.S. I think this was also one of my first problems finding out when first playing the game.

Same here... I learned it on the forum before I played it the first time...
But the change I would like would still be that you need the fleet in the sea zone to load the troops , as that means you need to controle that sea zone which IMHO is good. BUT I would like to be able to dump a army to a fleet in port and then let the game handle moving the ships to the sea zone and the army bordering AND getting an arrival notice when the army has bordered.... Since I've too many times experienced boarding my ships and since this takes some time I've gone somewhere else on the map and dealt with other things, and when I finally remember to look at that fleet it has already been too many months at sea and I have to send them back to port so I don't loose the whole army to attrition :(

This is not a bug, but something I find rather annoying....

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the precipitate.

Greven:
I looked for it in the manual, but in the section with all the stuff about army and fleet movement points. (I don't play tutorials, they're for sissies -- real men use the 'take the bull by the horns' -method.)

Thanks for a magnificent game. The guys at Paradox should be given the honorary title of Emperor of the Holy Roman Sleep Deprivation.

Yes, that is bothersome. You have to ignore everything else that is happening to watch the boarding process. There is good notification of every other time an army or fleet reaches its objective; boarding & unboarding ships should have a notification as well.

Does the troops have to be in a port to be able to board?

Troops need to be in a province adjoining the seazone where the fleet is. That's all.
