Broken save system on windows store

I have the gamepass verison of Battletech. once in a while, like once every few days, i wont be able to save. the save option is greyed out even in the jumpship and it says i can only save on my turn. i lost 9 hours of gameplay once from this. i see that this was an issue before for steam users. as of 8/25/2020 i can confirm its still happening in the windows store version/gamepass version.

Actually this problem was fixed on that version, as confirmed by other users here:

Just got Battletech on the windows Store as a part of the gamepass and it will not allow me to save, nor will it autosave. This is with or without Ironman. Try reinstalling on another drive and that didn't help. Tried checking the read only...

No update is available. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and began a new game. same issue. This is the xbox game pass store version thats on PC. Its still an issue that hasnt been fixed there. I even tried installing the steam version and can confirm its NOT an issue in the steam version.

I don't know how it is possible that update fixed this problem for everyone except you.

In the main game menu I see version 1.9.1-686R . Is that what you see, or something else?
