Bug - No Music?

Anyone have a solution to this bug?
The game runs fine, but I get no music at all.
I can play tracks on the cd using Windows Media Player (so I don't think it's a hardware issue), but the game won't play them.

I am running the North American version of Europa Universalis, Windows ME, and a SoundBlaster Live sound card.

I have exactly the same problem, and actually the same configuration. WinME, Soundblaster LIVE.

Does anyone have a solution, or?

Dont use Napster, so nothing to do with that.

No music either, and since 1.09 no SFX!

Hi there,

I have bought the german version of the game a while ago, because I was longing for the game for some time, and wasn't willing to wait for the english version. I enjoy the game very much, but since the start I haven't heard any music, and since 1.09 I have SFX that are completely bugged (crashing sounds, and stuff like that). I mus say, that this really kills the mood to play! I would also like to have sound, and even better, some music please! What can I do?

I also use Windows ME and have a similar problem. I get sound, but no music. I'm not at my computer at home so I don't recall what my sound card is, but it's not a soundblaster. The strange thing is, when I first installed EU, I got the music for a few weeks, but then suddenly it stopped. I even uninstalled and reinstalled EU and the sound wouldn't come back. Makes me wonder if EU did something to my system.

EU does not change any system settings for you so there has to be something else.

I get no music either. I do get sound (though it doesn't appear to be very useful - but that's another discussion). I have a SB Live, that seems to be a common feature here.
