Here's my problem: I have a computer that I use pretty much exclusively for games. For the last 1+ months I've been playing EU exclusively often time leaving it running on my computer for hours/days at a time. I've noticed over time that the longer I leave it running the slower it runs, so I have to reboot. This past weekend, I had left it on for a while, and when I returned to it, my mouse started acting jerky and then froze. Then a couple of minutes later my whole machine froze. Ever since then whenever I start my computer, no matter what I run, my mouse gets jerky after a few minutes which is then followed by it freezing and then my machine freezing. Since the ONLY program I've been running lately is EU, I suspect that the problems with my computer are somehow related to the program. Is there any known bug that could have caused this problem, and if so, how do I fix it?

Have you patched it to 1.09?
If not I suggest that you do. A bad memory leak was fixed by this patch.
If you have patched to 1.09 then go to the start/program group and use the "Europa Universalis (No Music) option.
EU itself doesnt change any system files and is unlikely to be the cause of your ongoing problem.
May be time for a system reinstall?
