I have the sneaking feeling that this isn't really an HIP bug, but what's the deal with AI holy orders? I'm playing Norse with PB+SWMH+VIET Assets, and every time my luckless Catholic victims raise a Holy Order against my relentless conquests, the holy order sort of sits around for a bit, then maybe moves one county, then disbands. Sometimes then it is re-raised. It's really quite silly. Is this a vanilla thing?
Yes, it's a vanilla thing. I wish Paradox gave us that kind of modding control over the AI. Except I'd not screw it up.

I got this error while running the installer for the new version.

WindowsError: [Error 2] The File has not been found: 'modules/NBRT+/map/terrain/colormap.dds'.

Try the latest HIP download (2014-02-17), which should address that problem. I can't confirm that it will, as it was a hotfix put out by Meneth earlier today, but I think there were two NBRT+ issues raised in this week's release (a couple days ago), and I don't know if the latest build addresses both.

I think I found a...bug? Maybe? I honestly don't know. New patch, new map additions, decided to do a new start in an area I've never played as before. So I Ruler Designed a Prussian count (chief) under ol' Wilks, and gave him two daughters starting out (I like doing this because it's a fallback just in case a freak accident kills my ruler early, and because they can secure alliances later on). Anyway. Allow me to get to the point.

I got a message from a vassal asking if he could educate one of them. I was like "huh...didn't see the icon pop up, must have missed it." politely declined (or not so politely. You'd think you could put it more kindly than "I can find someone better." That's cold, man. That's real cold.), and went in to try educating them myself. Which is when I learned that, at ages 7 and 6, they were considered not of an eligible age to educate. Now unless the Prussians have some very odd customs concerning education, I'm wondering at this. I don't know if it's something that will effect all children, or just ones that were 'auto' put in by the ruler designer.

Running: SWMH + PB + Arko (Interface and Flags) + VIET(minus immersion, alas) + NBRT. In addition, I'm running CPR with the lovely culture file posted by Elvain.

So while it's possible I messed something up on my end, I can't say as I'm exactly sure what that would be. Nothing obvious occurs to me, so I did what any avid internetgoer would do and posted it on the forum. And here we are, full circle.

Unfortunately, this is a vanilla issue with educating ruler designed children, not something related to HIP. There's been at least one post about it in the official bug reports forums, and it looks like saving and reloading fixed it for one person.

Aha. Well then, thank you for the info! Maybe I'll just turn it into a social experiment to see what happens when they grow up uneducated. I can imagine it now: "Child, could you please stop swinging from the chandelier?" "HSSSSSS! WAK!" "I'm sure your eventual husband will be simply 'delighted'."

Alright, this is... rather upsetting. Still getting constant CTDs on the newest patch.

I don't know why it's trying to load what appears to be things from VIET Immersion when I don't have that module loaded. I have PB+SWMH+NBRT+ARKOpack, specifically said "no" when asked to install VIET materials. Sigh. :(

Edit 2: Strangely, reinstalling the mod packages -with- the VIET materials (sans Immersion) seems to have fixed the problem? How peculiar. I'll keep playing to see what happens...

Okay, got a bug. Not sure if it's from the mod or Vanilla, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's the mod. The year is 1110 or so, and the Pope called a Crusade for Al-Andalus (which, by the way, now dejure controls almost all of Spain, except for Leon and Barcelona, which is controlled by Italy). I am the Angelcynn Empire of Germania (renamed HRE). I control all of England, Wales, Ireland, all German kingdoms, France, a sliver of Aquitaine, and a chunk of Scotland. Every time this Crusade gets to 100% warscore, the game freezes, and I can't progress. Task manager does nothing, nothing works. Have to shut down and restart the computer. Tried assassinating the sultan and beating his son, same issue. I could try to force the "Crusade wins" event, but I want to make sure nobody else has this problem before I do so.

I did a search and didn't see this mentioned, not sure if this is a CK2 issue or something with project balance (I also am using VIET), so I'll post it here just in case

I cannot nominate one of my children. So I run an absolute cognatic elective kingdom of Ireland and England, I know risky, but if my heir changed to two different people I would destroy Ireland title.

Well I've conquered most of Ireland and decide to give one of my mayors a ducal title so I can have a republic, I get a pop up of nominating successor, I look up and down the list (for both titles), but my oldest daughter, who has the best traits, I cannot nominate, there are other women, even a younger daughter, but not my eldest daughter...what happened?

She is still alive, I reloaded and tried it again and same issue happened...all is fine until I create a republic. I already have 1 republic, so this would be my second.

for a quick fix just copy the two files "colormap.dds" and "colormap_water.dds" from "modules/NBRT+SWMH/map/terrain" info "modules/NBRT+/map/terrain" and restart the installer

Please copy/paste the version.txt file from your installed HIP mod folder ("Historical Immersion Project," by default) so that we know what mods you're running.

This is almost certainly a vanilla issue. However, there is one slim chance that is not; I will add investigating / eliminating that possibility to my TODO, but I do need to know your modpack combo / versions from version.txt.

FYI, you can't force the "Crusade wins" event and have the proper mechanics for the Crusade run correctly. It will display the popup narrative, but no titles will be transferred or any of that. However, if you just want to get past the bug, it _might_ work. If it doesn't, the solution to both of these problems is to switch to the Muslim Caliph (or whomever is displayed as the primary defender), with the console command play <Character ID> where the character ID is found in the delayed tooltip when you hover over the character in question's portrait. Then, as that character, surrender. (Luckily it's not the other way around, because you can't switch to the Pope.) Then switch back to your character ID via the play command again, then unpause and wait for the Pope to accept the surrender offer.

It crashes THEN, something really is amiss indeed.

Playing with all modules except SWMH map and the VIET portraits module (because I dont have all portraits) and the culture for the Petty Kingdom of Galloway at the Old Gods bookmark, next to Scotland, says "noculture". I assume its a bug :p

Unrelated, but concerning the VIET module that does "require" portraits, there is an option in the installer to, well, install the portrait fix (automatically) for you if you don't have all portrait sets.

I don't know if this is something that can be fixed in this mod and it's probably not just extant in this mod. As a female ruler, I became pregnant and a bit later had a "falling in love" event with a courtier. A daughter was born to the ruler and her husband, and two months later a child was born to the ruler and her lover. I don't see how a woman can become pregnant while already pregnant.

HIP 2-17-2014 (No Immersion)

Removing ahistorical empires causes the empire of africa's dejure land to be reduced to the kingdom of Maghreb, and the empire of abyssinia's dejure land to be reduced to the kingdom of adal.

Also, I'm not sure how to explain this. It seems like the county of Saho is dejure a part of Adal, while the barony and city itself is dejure part of the kingdom of Abyssinia. As the king of Abyssinia, I have county claims for both. See pictures:

Not so much a bug but I noticed that it when using all modules apart from VIET immersion it doesn't seem like there is an event that switches from Norse to Gothic, this means that if the Geats kingdom is formed the Norse there will never change from being Norse

Will fix the NAE issue. Thanks for reporting.
