Hey there, I put a few fusion reactors and i researched the breakthrough eternal fusion. Eternal Fusion means Fusion reactors can be active without any colonists at all at a 150 productivity.

However on selling my solar panels and wind turbines to save the maintenance and placing several of these fusion reactors around my near 400 day colony, They wouldnt work without colonists. Even tho i have the research of the upgrade and the breakthrough fusion tech. So there must be some form of bug or something that ignores the breakthrough taking away the need for colonists.

Have you actually applied the research tech to your fusion reactors?

It's not just that you have to research it, but you have to then install it in them for it to work.

I researched an improvement to my wind turbines. After it was completed I then had to tell my drones to upgrade each wind turbine with the technology to get it to work.

OMG hahha, Ok so on each building in the top right corner from clicking on it, there is a symbol, clicking this installs the upgrades.

Im nearly at 400 sol days into my colony and this symbol is on my smart homes for HOME COLLECTIVE tech, POLYMER BLADES on my wimd turbines, AMPLIFY on my extractors MAGNETIC FILTERING on my oxygen producing and others, AUTOMATION on my farms, HYDROSCOPIC COATING on my moisture evaporaters, all kinds of things. I had no idea i had to manually click on these and have them upgraded.

So my Fusion reactors are now fully powered and working and my power supply has went through the roof on this 400 day colony haha ;) i have nearly researched everything and didnt know this whole time that half my research or more was not turned on hahaha ;)

Thank you very much for that hint, Captain CHAON :) LOL 400 days noob ;) haha

Yeah, I got pretty far before I realized that, too. The game isn't quite as intuitive as it could be.

I was going to report the same bug as I got the breakthrough as my second one! However, didn't get fusion until later :(. It bugged me until a friend said did you do X I was like....ummmm you can upgrade >.> haha :D. Same for wind Turbines and everything else *blush*

Don't worry. We're laughing at you, not with you :p

You can even turn those upgrades off after you build them. I have no idea why you would do this except for the extractors that are using more power, but hey, if you want your moisture vaporators to get back to only producing 1 water instead of 1.5, you can do that...

Is there anyway to set this up to be done automatically to all of a given type of building? I've got dozens and dozens of wind turbines in my game...

I think it says so if you hover over the button, something like hold shift and right click or something.

When you select a wind turbine and hover over that button, it says hold CTRL and then click to make it apply to all wind turbines.

This works with any building you want to do something for like call in maintenance. Hold CTRL and then click.
