Playing Russia in the GC at low level. I have concquered all (or at least all I can see) of Astraskhan, and everytime I click on them to offer peace (hopefully to annex them) I then get the Crimea diplomcy screen??

What gives??? AST is still offering me peace treaties but I am unable to do the same?

Is this a bug or a feature

It's a feature.

You have to answer another nations peace suggestions before you can send one on your own back.

This btw is in my FAQ, which I suggest you read =)

Why should it change to a new country if I offer peace to ASK?

I don't suppose that Crimea had earlier conquered the province of Astrakhan that you're clicking on? (And so you're really clicking on Crimea...)

I also suspect you are, as what you describe have nevver happend to me.
Anyway, to get around it, click the Dip icon to your left and then leftclick on Astr Capital Province.
Now you will have the option to use dip options on Astr.
