Not sure if I installed the mod properly, but I am experiencing some minor but annoying bugs. I installed it over Arma 1.1, would there be a problem with that? Because it's the only thing I can think of that might have gone wrong.

Basically, the leaders in my armies keep changing all the time, especially, but not exclusively, in my allied armies. For a while I thought maybe it was some sort of game mechanic I had missed, but I have seen them changing before my eyes! This in spite of the fact that I am using military control over their units. Army Corps sizes also change, going from between one and three divisions per army randomly, often leaving me with no leader or with a leader beyond his command capacity.

Another irritating bug is that sometimes the game won't allow me to assign a leader to an allied division or corps, and this problem is gradually getting worse, to begin with it affected only one division and now it affects maybe a dozen. I've had other weird events too, like air commanders in the same province as ships taking control of a naval battle and getting experience from it, even though they aren't participating in the battle! Weird stuff.

BTW, might there be any reason why I can't attack across a strait, apart from a bug? There's an island at the bottom of Korea, the first time I attacked it it worked fine, but now the game won't allow me to attack across the straits even though the enemy can attack me across it! Earlier on I also had a problem with my units not being able to move across the straits to the island of Hainan, although it seems I can do it again now.

with the first problem try to install patch 1.2 for Arma
For the Straits problem: you can´t cross a strait if ennemy fleets are crossing the adjacent sea province, so you have to get rid of them...

Should I deinstall CORE first do you think? Or reinstall the mod after installing the patch?

Hmm, that could explain it, although they must have been patrolling the same sea zone for months! Thanks for the tip, but I don't actually have much to attack ships with at this stage of the game, so I may just have to forget about taking that island.

We use moddir exclusively, so uninstalling CORE theoretically shouldn't be necessary. I can't recall hearing of your problems before though, so it can't hurt to reinstall CORE after applying the 1.2 ARMA patch.
