Moldavia vassal of Hungary which is the vassal of Austria... :)

Let's continue the scenario: Austria annexes Hungary diplomatically. What is the status of Moldavia now?

In the example discussed when I played... Hungary kept Moldavia as a vassal-state when she was vassalized by Austria.

I could not decide if I liked it or not so I did not comment it to Johan. I mean it goes perfectly with the Medieval notion of vassalage, but EU vassalage covers a more modern phenomena. Perhaps 'Satellite' is better than 'Vassal', but it was an old boardgame concept so it survived somehow... :)

greven is right

if you vassalise a country with a vassal it keeps its vassal

you would benefit from a vassal's vassal - since you get income from a vassal presumably some of that comes from the vassal's vassal . . .
