hello,

we have been playng EUII with my friend for some time. However, since we upgraded from 1.08 to 1.09 it suddenly stopped connecting - we can no longer see each other. Regardless who is a host - when the other clicks "join", he cannot see the host. We did not change a thing in our settings except for the upgrade.
Later on I tried to connect to some othe of my friend, with the same result.
We have Polish 1.01 ver upgraded to 1.08 later upgraded to 1.09, but I tried to connect also to an English 1.04 upgraded to 1.09 directly - no response.

any clues?

You must first totally clear out the IP Address window. This requires moving the cursor as far right as it will go, then backspacing as far left as it will go. Although you cannot see it, there is a blank space in the window before you enter anything which you must get rid of before entering the IP address to which you wish to connect.

You should worship the guy who discovered that solution too. Man, he must be a freakin genius ;).

thanks for help, but there is not much dofference. Well, there is one - the game does not freeze (as it used to be with the space present). Now it simply does not connect (cannot find such IP - i tried it with 3 other friends in all combinations).

merry xmas!

Read the stickies (you'll find a link in my sig too). Sounds like your router/firewall is not properly set-up.

That may be possible but only in case 1.09 introduces some new standards - we played many times before - from 1.01 to 1.08 and there was no problem. So why now suddenly - if we do not make any changes to windows settings?

If you get "no such IP message", then I am ready to bet my hat it is a router/firewall (or a typo writing the IP ;)) issue :) Check the settings, one of you might have accidently changed something crucial.
