Cannot start game after latest patch (steam)

Patch downloaded and installed itself fine, tried to start a game and it stopped responding after I clicked on single player. I reinstalled the game and the same thing happened. Checked the error logs and got this: [texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: gfx//coats_of_arms//dynasties.tga. [texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: . [texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: . Anyone else get this problem?

I'd like you to try turning off your sound completely. While CKII is NOT running, open your settings.txt file (My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\settings.txt) and change the master volume line to this

master_volume=0

Save the file and restart CKII.
